What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U3213 Ebenezer Road, Hastings)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Ebenezer Road – for its full extent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 23 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 23 January 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A2036 Hastings Road, Bexhill)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Hastings Road – from the junction with U6700 Wentworth Close to the junction with A2036 Wrestwood Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2036 Hastings Road – A259(T) Glyne Gap roundabout, De La Warr Road, King Offa Way – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A269 London Road – A2036 Wrestwood Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 27 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 27 and 29 January 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C296 Military Road, Rye)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Military Road – from the junction with P6910 Iden Lock to Lock Cottage.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C296 Military Road – Military Road (KCC) – B2080 Rhee Wall (KCC) – A259(T) Straight Lane (KCC) – A259(T) Guldeford Lane (KCC) – A259(T) Folkestone Road, Guldeford Road, New Road, Fishmarket roundabout – A268 Fishmarket Road, Rye Hill – C296 Military Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 27 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 29 January 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C17 Wartling Road, Wartling)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Wartling Road – from the junction with U7698 Boreham Lane to the junction with A271 The Strait.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C17 Wartling Hill, Wartling Road – A27(T) Pevensey Haven roundabout – A259(T) Marsh Road – B2095 Top Road, Hooe Road, Lower Street – A269 Bexhill Road, The Green, High Street, Standard Hill – A271 Boreham Hill, The Strait and vice versa.

The Order commences 26 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 26 and 29 January 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A2101 Queens Road/Albert Road, Hastings)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Queens Road/Albert Road – from the junction with U3169 South Terrace to the junction with A259 Denmark Place.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic southbound via A2101 Queens Road, Park Gates roundabout, St Helens Road – A21 Sedlescombe Road North, London Road – A2102 London Road, Norman Road, Warrior Square – A259 Grand Parade, Eversfield Place, Verulam Place, White Rock, Carlisle Parade, Denmark Place and northbound via A259 Denmark Place, Carlisle Parade, White Rock, Verulam Place, Eversfield Place, Grand Parade – A2102 London Road – A21 London Road, Sedlescombe Road North – A2101 St Helens Road, Park Gates roundabout, Queens Road.

The Order commences 27 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 27 and 29 January 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3202 Alpine Road, Hastings)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Alpine Road – from the junction with U3198 Plynlimmon Road to the junction with U3186 Priory Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3198 Plynlimmon Road – U3202 Gordon Road – U3186 Priory Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 9 February 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 and 18 February 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C212 Perrymans Lane, Brightling)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Perrymans Lane – from the junction with C212 Kings Hill Road to the junction with C212 Observatory Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C212 Kings Hill Road, School Hill – A265 High Street, Paygate, Heathfield Road, Burwash Road – B2096 Battle Road, Cade Street, Battle Road, Earls Down, Carricks Hill, Battle Road, Woods Corner – C18 Brightling Road – C212 Observatory Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 9 February 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 and 11 February 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6106 Sluice Road/Herbrand Walk, Normans Bay/ Bexhill)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Sluice Road/Herbrand Walk – for 30 metres at the level crossing.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6106 Sluice Road, Sluice Lane – A27(T) Pevensey Haven roundabout – A259(T) Marsh Road, Barnhorn Road, Little Common roundabout – B2182 Cooden Sea Road – U6106 Herbrand Walk and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 February 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on the following dates depending upon the weather conditions:

8 and 9 February 2026

21 and 22 June 2026

The East Sussex (U6550/B2182 Cooden Drive & B2182
Richmond Road, Bexhill)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Cooden Drive – from the junction with U6550 Wickham Avenue to the junction with U6547 Richmond Avenue.

Diversion via U6550 Wickham Avenue – U6551 Sackville Road, Sackville roundabout – B2182 West Parade – U6546 South Cliff – U6547 Richmond Avenue and vice versa.

Richmond Road – for approximately 30 metres at the junction with B2182 Cooden Drive.

Diversion via B2182 Cooden Drive – U6547 Richmond Avenue – U6546 South Cliff – B2182 Richmond Road and vice versa or via U6550 Cooden Drive, Wickham Avenue – U6551 Sackville Road, Sackville roundabout – B2182 West Parade, Richmond Road and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 9 February 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 February and 23 March 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7108 Horsewalk & B2095 Top Road, Hooe)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures
Horsewalk – from the junction with B2095 Top Road to the junction with C17 Wartling Hill.

Diversion via U7108 Horsewalk – C17 Wartling Hill, Wartling Road – A27 Pevensey Haven roundabout – A259 Marsh Road – B2095 Top Road and vice versa.

Top Road – from the junction with U7108 Kiln Lane to the junction with A259 Marsh Road.

Diversion via B2095 Top Road – A259 Barnhorn Road, Little Common roundabout, Little Common Road – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A2691 Haven Brook Avenue – A269 Ninfield Road, Bexhill Road – B2095 Lower Street, Hooe Road, Top Road and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 9 February 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 9 and 11 February 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
