What is happening?
TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(DROVE ROAD, BIGGLESWADE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Drove Road, Biggleswade between numbers 18 and 24.
This temporary closure is required to enable new electrical connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 16 to 20 February 2026 for 24hours a day. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B1040, B1042, Bedford Rd, A1, A6001, Drove Rd and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 16 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(BLUEBELL DRIVE, LOWER STONDON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bluebell Drive, Lower Stondon from the junction with Pollards Way for approx. 15 metres.
This temporary closure is required to enable water main installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 16 to 27 February 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Bluebell Drive, Pollards Way and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 16 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(MILLOW, DUNTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Millow, Dunton opposite Lodge Farm.
This temporary closure is required to enable fire hydrant repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 5 February 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Dunton Rd, Hinxworth Rd, C186, Ashwell Rd, C186, West End, High St, Lucas Lane, Station Rd, Northfield Rd, Cambridge Rd and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 3 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(STATION ROAD, TEMPSFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Station Road, Tempsford for 20m either side of the level crossing.
This temporary closure is required to enable level crossing rerail works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 6am on 7 February until 6pm on 8 February 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
The Order will come into operation on 7 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Southill outside number 40.
This temporary closure is required to enable new connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 3 to 5 February 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Stanford Rd, ZUC 152, ZUC 151 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 3 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(EVERTON ROAD, TEMPSFORD AND EVERTON HILL, EVERTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Everton Road, Tempsford and Everton Hill, Everton 20 metres either side of the level crossing.
This temporary closure is required to enable barrier replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on 1 February 2026 between the hours of 0700-1900. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Tempsford Road, Sandy Road, Everton Road, Swaden, High Street, Bedford Road, Great North Road, Blunham Lane, C54 from Blunham Lane to Station Road, Church Street and Everton Road.
The Order will come into operation on 1 February 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BIGGLESWADE:
BRIDLEWAY NO. 89 AND PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO. 58)
PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2026
The above Order made on 16 January 2026 under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980 will create the public bridleways described below.
The length of Bridleway No. 89, Biggleswade to be created extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 58, Biggleswade at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 2119 4262 in a generally southeasterly direction for approximately 564 metres to its junction with Footpath No. 39, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 2155 4221 then continues in a generally north-easterly direction for approximately 348 metres crossing a vehicular culvert to OS GR TL 2178 4238 then continues in a generally north-north-easterly direction for approximately 496 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 57, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 2194 4284.
The new length of bridleway has a width of 4 metres.
The second length of Bridleway No. 89, Biggleswade to be created extends from its junction with Market Garden Road at OS GR TL 2110 4298 in an easterly direction for approximately 2 metres to its junction with Footpath No. 39, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 2111 4298 then continues in a generally south-easterly direction for approximately 345 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 58, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 2132 4272.
The new length of bridleway has a width of 4 metres.
The length of Bridleway No. 58, Biggleswade to be created extends from an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 58, Biggleswade at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 2171 4313 in a northerly direction for approximately 7 metres crossing a vehicular culvert to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 57, Biggleswade at OS GR 2171 4314. The new length of bridleway has a width of 4 metres.
CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BIGGLESWADE: PART OF
FOOTPATH NO. 39) PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2026
The above Order made on 16 January 2026 under Section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will extinguish the public footpath described below.
The first length of Footpath No. 39, Biggleswade to be stopped up extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 58, Biggleswade at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 2119 4262 in a generally south-easterly direction for approximately 564 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 39, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 2155 4221.
The footpath is stopped up over its full width.
The second length of Footpath No. 39, Biggleswade to be stopped up extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 39, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 2111 4298 in a generally south-easterly direction for approximately 345 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 58, Biggleswade at OS GR TL 2132 4272.
The footpath is stopped up over its full width.

Any representations about or objections to the two Orders above may be sent in writing to the Highway Assets Intelligence Team Leader, Central Bedfordshire Council Highways, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, SG17 5QT or definitivemap@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk not later than 27 February 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Representations and objections must include either a postal or e-mail address. Any representations or objections made will be in the public domain and will be available for viewing/copying by members of the public.
If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Central Bedfordshire Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order and will be made publicly available by either the Council or the Planning Inspectorate.
