What is happening?

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH UK45 – RUSHDEN)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above Order made by North Northamptonshire Council on 24th July 2025 and which came into effect on 28th July 2025 has been extended until the works to which it relates have been completed or until midnight on 28th January 2027 whichever is sooner by the Secretary of State for Transport. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said footpath is unaffected.
REASON FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required for health and safety as works are continuing adjacent to the footpath and so needs to remain closed to minimise public interaction.

The route to be closed starts at point A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 9595 6742. The route travels generally north for approximately 390 metres to point B at NGR SP 9611 6774. The route to be closed is shown by a solid black line between points A - B.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:
The alternative route starts at point A at NGR SP9595 6742. It travels south west for approximately 311 metres along the footway of Shirley Road to point C at NGR SP9570 6725. It then travels north east along the footway of North Street and Higham Road for a total distance of approximately 569 metres to point D at NGR SP9575 6778. It then travels east along the footway of Prospect Avenue for approximately 372 metres to point B at NGR SP9611 6774. The alternative route is shown by a broken black line between points A - C - D - B.
