What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford has made under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: SALFORD CITY COUNCIL (PEEL GREEN ROAD FOOTPATH) TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026.

The Order will introduce a footpath closure on the footpath that is located at the rear of 3A to 43 Boscombe Avenue and rear of 133 to 161 Peel Green Road, Eccles, M30 7DT. The Order is necessary to allow works to be carried out on behalf of United Utilities for the installation of a new 1200mm diameter drainage pipe. The new drainage will deliver extra capacity on the network to help address the flooding issues on Peel Green Road.

The order is due to come into operation on Monday 2nd February 2026 and will last for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The diversion routes are via Eccles Definitive Footpath 4 - Boscombe Avenue - Chesham Road - Peel Green Road, vice versa.
