Ruthven: Balendoch Road - Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting
What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 19/01/2026 Angus Council made The Angus Council (Balendoch Road, Ruthven) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2026, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to permit telecommunications ducting works to be undertaken. The Order prohibits all vehicular traffic from driving and waiting on Balendoch Road, Ruthven for its entire length, a distance of 4km or thereby. The Order will come into force on 26/01/26 for eight days. However, the maximum duration in terms of the act is 18 months. The works will be carried out in two phases with alternative routes for vehicular traffic being via (1) A926 Blairgowrie to Kirriemuir and Balendoch to Silvie, and (2) A926 Blairgowrie - Kirriemuir and B954 Muirhead to Alyth. The reverse routes apply. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. Full details of the Order are available at www.angus.gov.uk/trafficorders.
