Fall Kirk - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(FALL KIRK, GRESSINGHAM, LANCASTER CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Fall Kirk, Gressingham from a point outside property known as Valley Cottage to its junction with Silverhill.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0830 hours on Tuesday 27th January 2026 until 1600 hours on Thursday 29th January 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Access for emergency Services will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Silverhill – Fall Kirk – Gressingham Rod – A683 Melling Road – A683 Tunstall Road – A683 Burrow Road – into Cumbria (Westmorland and Furness) – B6254 Robraine – B6254 Church Street to Robraine – B6254 Main Street – B6254 Kirkby Lonsdale Road and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow Network Plus to repair consequential damage be carried out on behalf of United Utilities.
