Jewison Lane Level Crossing - Temporary Traffic Regulation
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC JEWISON LANE
LEVEL CROSSING, SEWERBY
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Jewison Lane Level Crossing, Sewerby and 20 metres
either side of the level crossing commencing
21 February 2026 at 22.00 hours until 22 February
2026 at 09.30 hours and 22 February 2026 at 21.00
hours until 23 February 2026 at 06.30 hours for the
purposes of replacing road traffic light works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within two days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Jewison Lane, Short Lane, Bempton
Lane, B1255 Marton Road, B1255 Marton Road
Roundabout, B1255 Marton Gate, B1255 Marton Gate
Roundabout and Sheeprake Lane, Bridlington CP,
Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward, Bridlington
North Ward. The diversion route will be signed at the
time of closure. The road will be closed to all through
traffic but access will be maintained for emergency
vehicles. Further information can be obtained by
