WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –SECTION 14

(STATION LANE, FEATHERSTONE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 26) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for plain line tamp to improve track quality to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Station Lane,

Featherstone, 20 metres either side of the level crossing. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Station Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Station Lane, Wakefield Road, Common Side Lane, Green Lane, Station Lane & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including

29th January 2026 to 30th January 2026, 00.05 hours to 05.45 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(STATION ROAD, ACKWORTH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 27) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for for Telecoms poling works to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Station Road, Ackworth, approximately 50 metres from the junction with Long Lane. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Station Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Doncaster Road, Hardwick Road, Ackworth Road, Pontefract Road, Station Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 28th January 2026 to 29th January 2026, road closed 09.30 hours to 15.30 hours, clear at all other times or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WENTBRIDGE LANE, THORPE AUDLIN)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 29) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for drainage improvement works and resurfacing to be carried out as follows:ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Wentbridge Lane, Thorpe

Audlin from the junction of Doncaster Road and Number 2. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Wentbridge Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Doncaster Road,

Hardwick Road, Ackworth Road, Carleton Road, Moor Lane, Great North Road, Wrenthorpe Lane & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 26th January 2026 to 6th March 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Residents access maintained.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(SOUTHMOOR ROAD & COMMON ROAD, (TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER (NO 30) 2026

SOUTH KIRKBY)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield have made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow for overhead line works between telegraph poles to be carried out as follows:-

ROADS AFFECTED: Southmoor Road & Common

Road, South Kirkby on all approaches. Southmoor

Road from the district boundary to Common Road district boundary and Common Road from the junction with Southmoor Lane for 600 metres.

SPEED LIMIT: Temporary 40 MPH speed limit.

PERIOD OF ORDER: From and including

26th January 2026 between 09.30 hours and 15.30 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

(LEEDS ROAD, GLASSHOUGHTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 35) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for annual level crossing test to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Leeds Road,

Glasshoughton. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Leeds Road. ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Leeds Road, Bruce Smeaton Way, Cutsyke Road, Aketon Road, Leeds Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including

9th February 2026 at 22.30 hours to 10th February 2026 at 05.30 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(PENTLAND AVENUE, KNOTTINGLEY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 36) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for new electrical connection to be carried out as follows:ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Pentland Avenue,

Knottingley. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Pentland Avenue.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Malvern Road, Chiltern Avenue, Pentland Avenue & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 10th February 2026 to 16th February 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
