ULLSWATER CLOSE, KEMPSTON 25 – 095 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Ullswater Close, Kempston.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing, reinstate road markings and undertake civil & iron works/replacements. cleanse & flush out existing gullies. and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 2nd February 2026 to 19th February 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Gadsby Street, Bedford outside 17 - 19.

This temporary road closure is required to repair a water pipe and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the A6 Wixams Bypass, Elstow from A421 roundabout to Bedford Road Wilstead roundabout at a speed exceeding of 40 mph.

This temporary 40 mph speed restriction is required for safety of the public and workforce for carriageway patching and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary 40 mph speed restriction is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 28th January 2026 to 30th January 2026

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSES TO IMPROVE

PEDESTRIAN SAFETY ON GREENKEEPERS ROAD BY

INSTALLING A NEW ZEBRA CROSSING

Reason for Proposal: Bedford Borough Council intends to install a zebra crossing on Greenkeepers Road, Great Denham to centralise a crossing point for pedestrians and school users and enhance safety and accessibility in the area.

The accommodate this, sections of existing double yellow lines (41.8 metres each side) will be removed.

Location of Proposed Crossing:

The crossing is designed to span 16.4 metres west and 16.4 metres east from the base of the access ramp, providing a total affected length of 32.8 metres along Greenkeepers Road. The pedestrian crossing point will be 9 metres in width, and when combined with the adjustments to road markings, the overall length of changes on both sides of the carriageway will be approximately 41.8 metres. Further Details of the proposed zebra crossing, a plan and a statement of reasons for proposing to establish the crossing may be examined during normal working hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford. These documents are also available on the www.bedford.gov.uk/tro website. The details will be placed on deposit until 6 weeks after the crossings are commissioned or until it is decided not to continue with the proposal. Notice of Dedication of a Public Right of Way

A PUBLIC FOOTPATH DEDICATED IN THE PARISH  

OF STAPLOE, BEDFORD BETWEEN FOOTPATH 6  

STAPLOE AND BRIDLEWAY 27 STAPLOE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council, in accordance with Section 25 of the Highways Act 1980, has entered into a Public Path Creation Agreement with Richard E B Squire for the dedication of a public footpath over land in the Parish of Staploe. The dedicated route is described as follows:

A public footpath commencing from the northern end of the public footpath known as Footpath 6 Staploe of the extent of Land Registry Title BD235099, at Ordnance Survey Grid reference (OSGR) TL 1499/6085 then running in a northern direction for approximately 45 metres to a point where it connects to the unaffected part of Bridleway 27 Staploe at OSGR TL 1499/6089.

The width of the path is 1.2 metres throughout. There is no right of objection and the agreement has taken immediate effect.
