Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council intends to grant Clevedon Town Council a long-term lease of land at the Salthouse Fields Recreation Grounds, comprising approximately 0.2 hectares, as an extension to the adjacent existing Skateboard/BMX/Wheels Park.

Notice of Confirmation of an Order

Highways Act 1980 Section 118

Public Footpath LA 7/3, New Holm, Littleton Lane, Winford BS40 8HF

Public Path Extinguishment Order No. 6 2025

On 8 January 2026 North Somerset Council confirmed the above Order, made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish part of Public Footpath LA 7/3 in the Parish of Winford within the district of North Somerset. LA 7/3: Point A (grid ref. ST 55226 64772) running in a south westerly direction to Point B (grid ref. ST 55208 64715) then running in a south easterly direction to point C (grid ref. ST 55235 64667) then in a south-south easterly direction to point D (grid ref. ST 55253 64585). The route to be extinguished is approximately 198m in length.

The proposal is shown on the Order Map No. PPO 209. The existing route is shown with a bold black line and connecting footpaths are shown by broken purple lines. References to lettered points in this notice are references to points marked on the Order Map. The Order comes into force on 5 February 2026 but, if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 21 January 2026, make an application to the High Court.

Consolidation Order 2024 Variation No.5 Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that on the 15 January 2026 North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order was to amend the North Somerset Council Speed Limit Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation Order 2024 to include extending the existing 30mph speed limit and introducing a new 40mph speed limit on Wild Country Lane, Long Ashton. The order will come into operation on the 19 January 2026 and copies of the order may be inspected by appointment at North Somerset Council, Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Barrow Street, Barrow Gurney, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists

Date coming into force: 23 February 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of highway drainage maintenance works and will become operative on 23 February 2026, anticipated to be of 2 days. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule – Barrow Street, Barrow Gurney for entire extents.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Footpath LA12/16/30, LA12/41/10, LA12/18/15, LA12/19/40, Long Ashton, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 9 March 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpaths.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to renovate water main. This order will become operative on the 9 March 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 28 days.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists

Date coming into force: 26 January 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order was required because of highway drainage cleansing works and will become operative on 26 January 2026, anticipated to be of 1 working day. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming into force: 2 February 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities to replace 153.31m of old metallic gas mains with 153.31m of new plastic mains and renew/transfer approx. 19 service pipes to adjacent premises. This order will become operative on the 2 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 19 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
