Blackburn Brow - Revocation, 20mph, 40mph And Derestricted Speed Limits

NOTICE OF MAKING
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, CHORLEY, FYLDE, PRESTON, WEST LANCS AND WYRE) (REVOCATION, 20MPH, 40MPH AND DERESTRICTED SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 09 January 2026 Lancashire County Council made the above Speed Limit Order under Sections 82(2), 83(2) and 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke "The Chorley Borough Council (Blackburn Road, Whittle-le-Woods and Chorley) (40 M.P.H. Speed Limit) Order, 1975" in full.
2. Introduce a 20 mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) Apple Tree Close, St Michaels-On-Wyre, the entire length;
b) Ashworth Grove, Preston, from its junction with London Road for a distance of 189 meters in a south westerly direction;
c) Holly Wood Way, Westby with Plumptons, the entire length;
d) Redwood Drive, Westby with Plumptons, the entire length;
e) Shorrocks Avenue, St Michaels-on-Wyre, the entire length;
f) Yew Gardens, Westby with Plumptons, the entire length.
3. Introduce a 40mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) A674 Blackburn Road, Chorley, from its junction with the B6228 Blackburn Road for a distance of 83 metres in a northerly direction;
b) Blackburn Brow, Chorley, from its centreline junction with Blackburn Road B6228 to a point 83 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Knowley Brow;
c) Blackburn Brow, Chorley, from its junction with the A674 Blackburn Road/Millennium Way, Whittle-le-Woods In a southerly direction to its centreline junction with Blackburn Brow B6228.
4. Introduce de-restricted road status (national speed limit will apply) on Church Lane, Wrightington, from its junction with Smithy Brow/Toogood Lane to a point 396 metres west of its junction with the centreline of Wood Lane.

This Order will come into force on the 26 January 2026. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Wyre Borough Council, Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7PU, and at the offices of Fylde Borough Council, Town Hall, Lytham St Annes, FY8 1LW, and at the offices of Preston City Council, PO Box 10, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL, and at the offices of West Lancashire Borough Council, PO Box 16, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk, L39 2DF, and at the offices of Chorley Borough Council, Town Hall, Market Street, Chorley, PR7 1DP, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
