Gravesham, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

GRAVESHAM AREA

Church Street, Higham, ME3 7LT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Street, Higham, on or after 26th January 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside 4 Kent Terrace.

There is no alternative route but access will be maintained when safe to do so.



College Road & B262 Springhead Road, Northfleet, DA11 9DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of highway improvement works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of College Road and B262 Springhead Road, Northfleet.

College Road will be closed between 1st February 2026 and 17th April 2026, on various dates when appropriate signage is displayed on site.

Northbound traffic on B262 Springhead Road will be prohibited from 6th April 2026 to 19th April 2026.

College Road will be closed at the junction with B2175 High Street.

Northbound traffic on B262 Springhead Road will be prohibited from B262 Hall Road to opposite number 165.

The alternative route for College Road is via Grove Road, B2175 Stonebridge Road/High Street and vice versa.

The alternative route for B262 Springhead Road is via Hall Road, Earl Road, Perry Street, Pelham Road South, B261 Old Road West, Pelham Road, Darnley Road, A226 Darnley Road, A226 New Road, A226 Overcliffe, A226 London Road, A226 Thames Way, B262 Springhead Road.



Cross Lane East, Gravesend, DA12 5AF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cross Lane East, Gravesend, on or after 14th February 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 28.

The alternative route is via Cross Lane East, B261 Echo Square/Old Road East, Singlewell Road and vice versa.



East Terrace, Gravesend, DA12 2AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Southern Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of East Terrace, Gravesend, on or after 9th February 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between numbers 30 and 32.

The alternative route is via East Terrace, Milton Place, The Terrace and vice versa.



Thong Lane, Shorne, DA12 4PR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of a new BT customer service, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thong Lane, Shorne, on or after 27th January 2026 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 356.

The alternative route is via Darnley Lodge Lane, Halfpence Lane, Brewers Road, The Ridgeway, Pear Tree Lane, A226 Gravesend Road, A226 Rochester Road, Thong Lane and vice versa.



Whitepost Lane, Culverstone, DA13 0TJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Whitepost Lane, Culverstone, on or after 26th January 2026 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Mi Casa.

The alternative route is via Whitepost Lane, Newlands Lane, A227 Wrotham Road and vice versa.



Woodlands Lane, Shorne, DA12 3EP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Woodlands Lane, Shorne, on or after 29th January 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Tanyard Hill and Charwood.

The alternative route is via Tanyard Hill, The Ridgeway and vice versa.
