Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) A360 (Part), Potterne, Market Lavington and West Lavington; from its junction with Coxhill Lane to its junction with C40, B 220 Broadway (Part), Market Lavington; from its junction with A360 for a distance of approximately 900m in an easterly direction.

C) C20 Cheverell Road (Part), Market Lavington; from its junction with A360 for a distance of approximately 230m in a westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and other associated works.

Alternative route A via A360 (unaffected length) – B3086 – The Packway – A345 – A342 – A360 (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route B and C via Ledge Hill – Spin Hill – The Parsonage Lane – Grove Road – The Spring – Lavington Lane – High Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 21 February 2026.

D) C19 (Part), Steeple Ashton; from its junction with St Marys to its junction with Bartletts Mead to enable Wessex Water to carry out reinstatement and associated works. Alternative route via C19 (unaffected length) – C219 – C49 – A350 – C19 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 for 2 days. E) Whaddon Lane (Part), Hilperton; from its property known as No.77 Whaddon Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a southerly direction to enable British Solar Renewables to carry out solar farm entrance and associated section 278 works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 09 February 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 for 5 days. F) Brook Street (Part), Warminster; from its roundabout junction with Thornhill Road to its junction with King Street to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out gas mains and associated works. Alternative route via Brook Street (unaffected length) – C360 – B3414 – C360 – Masefield Road – Broxburn Road – Broadway – Pound Street – Brook Street (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 February 2026 and the closure will be starting at 09:00 on the first day and remain in force for 24 hours a day until 22 February 2026. G) UC 916903 (Part), Lacock; from its junction with A350 for a distance of approximately 200m in an easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out installation of overhead fibre cables and associated works. Alternative route via UC 916903 (unaffected length) – UC 916902 – A350 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 January 2026 and will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. H) B3105 (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with A363 to its property known as The Ligon House Farm Cottage to enable Openreach to carry out cabling and associated works. Alternative route via B3105 (unaffected length) – B3109 – A363 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 January 2026 and will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 2 days. J) A361 Northbound Carriageway (Part), Trowbridge; from its junction with Longfield Road West to its junction with Dursley Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out gyratory scheme and associated works. Alternative route via A361 (unaffected length) – A350 – A363 – A361 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 January 2026 and the closure will remain in force for 24 hours a day until 06 March 2026. K) A361 Southbound Carriageway (Part), Trowbridge; from its junction with Longfield Road West to its junction with Dursley Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out gyratory scheme and associated works. Alternative route via A361 (unaffected length) – A350 – A363 – A361 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 05 January 2026 will now recommence on 22 January 2026 and the closure will remain in force for 24 hours a day until 06 February 2026. Orders A) to J) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. Order K) has a maximum duration of 18 months.

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take place on the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
