Croydon – Temporary Road Closures and Parking Restrictions due to Works

What is happening?

Official Notice

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) a vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984,

SECTION 14 AS AMENDED

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

FACTORY LANE, CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate a telecoms pole installation on behalf of T-Mobile they have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic in Factory Lane, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) Factory Lane will be closed to vehicular and equestrian traffic between its junction with Theobald Road and Communication House, No. 5 Factory Lane,

b) The north and north-western footway of Factory Lane (adjacent to the Territorial Army Centre on Mitcham Road) will be closed to pedestrians between a point opposite the island site at the junction of Factory Lane and Roman Way and Communication House, No. 5 Factory Lane,

c) The weight restrictions on vehicles entering Miller Road from Purley Way and the width restrictions on vehicles entering Factory Lane at its junction with Miller Road will be suspended.

3. During the closures, the alternative routes for vehicular and equestrian traffic will be as detailed below. Pedestrians will be directed to the opposite footway.

• Via Mitcham Road Northbound, Lombard Roundabout, Purley Way Southbound, and Miller Road,

• Via Mitcham Road Southbound, Roman Way, Old Town, Davenant Road, The Croydon Flyover, Duppas Hill Road, Epsom Road, Purley Way, and Miller Road.

• HGVs (No Left Turn) – Via Ampere Way slip road, Ampere Way Northbound, Ampere Way Roundabout, Ampere Way Southbound, Faraday Way, Purley Way, and Miller Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 15 January 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed overnight from 10pm on 15 January to 6am on 16 January 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

(a) any vehicle or person involved in conducting the said work.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCIL

HARRINGTON ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate new gas connection works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Harrington Road, South Norwood.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Harrington Road will be closed outside No. 221 Harrington Road.

3. During the closure, the alternative route for traffic will be via Lonsdale Road, Brooklyn Road, Brooklyn Avenue, and vice versa.

4. The Order will come into operation on 02 February 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 06 February 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

NOTTINGHAM ROAD & WHITGIFT AVENUE, SOUTH CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate cable installation works by UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements and parking in Nottingham Road and Whitgift Avenue, South Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) Nottingham Road will be closed northbound (towards Warham Road) between its junctions with Brighton Road and Warham Road.

b) Whitgift Avenue will be closed at its junction with Nottingham Road.

c) Parking in Nottingham Road will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply “at any time” between its junctions with Warham Road and Brighton Road.

d) Parking in Whitgift Avenue will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply “at any time” between its junction with Nottingham Road and a point 20 metres south-west of that junction.

3. During the closures the alternative routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below,

• Diversion for Nottingham Road: Brighton Road and Warham Road.

• Diversion for Whitgift Avenue: Haling Park Road, Warham Road and Nottingham Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 29 January 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 22 March 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works,

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies,

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984

SECTION 23

PROPOSED ZEBRA CROSSING

HAYES LANE, KENLEY

Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that they propose to install a new zebra crossing in the above road as specified in the Schedule to this Notice to provide safe crossing facilities and improve road safety for school children and other pedestrians.

The general effect of the zig-zag markings would be to prohibit all vehicles from stopping on the markings for any reason and to improve road safety by aiding pedestrians to cross safely.

Hayes Lane (at its junction with Station Road, Kenley) – The crossing point will be 5.5 metres wide and sited to the immediate north of the junction with Station Road, Kenley. The zig zag markings will extend 12.87 metres to the south and 21.23 metres to the north of the crossing point. Existing single yellow lines and four short-term parking spaces will be removed, and an existing disabled parking bay will be relocated 21.23 metres north of the Station Road junction, to accommodate the new crossing.
