What is happening?
SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
The council has made The Borough Council of Sandwell (A457 Birmingham Road, Oldbury and Oldbury Road, Smethwick) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2026, which will have the effect of prohibiting any vehicle exceeding a speed of 30mph along the A457, to the lengths of road as shaded on plan number 43,658 S/3.
The order and full details may be examined at the offices of the Director of Place, Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, West Midlands, B69 3DE during normal office hours.
The order was made and shall come into operation on the 16/1/2026. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the order on the grounds that any aspect of the relevant legislation has not been complied with, can apply to the High Court by 27/2/2026.
