Henrietta Steet - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian to proceed over that length of Henrietta Street, Preston for its full length.
2. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over that length of Henrietta Street, Preston for its full length for traffic travelling northbound only.
3. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
4. The prohibition in article 1 shall be operative from 0001 hours on Monday 26th January 2026 until 2359 hours on Friday 30th January 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
5. The prohibition in article 2 shall be operative from 0001 hours on Saturday 31st January 2026 until 2359 hours on Friday 20th March 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
6. The prohibition in article 1 shall be operative from 0001 hours on Saturday 21st March 2026 until 2359 hours on Friday 5th November 2027 or until completion of the works within this period.
7. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
St Marys Street – Henrietta Street and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow electricity substation replacement works to be carried out.
