What is happening?
SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S - PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as
stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for thoseaffected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 26th January 2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A51, London Road, Woore
Date & Duration: 1st February 2026 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road closure - Repair defective manhole frame and cover
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A488, Castle Street, Clun
Date & Duration: 1st February 2026 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Replace pole
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Abingdon Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 30th January 2026 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, replace defective manhole frame and cover.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4363 between Oldbury and Glazeley
Date & Duration: 1st February 2026 between 09:30 to 15:30 and 8th February 2026 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure-Pole testing is also required along with tree cutting.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Beaconhill Lane, Monkhopton
Date & Duration: 28th January 2026 for 14 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Lay 130m of ducting and install a new structure in the verge.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Brynhafod Road, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 28th January 2026 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Sluice Valve Chamber
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Road, Baschurch
Date & Duration: 26th January 2026 for 5 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Trial Holes to prove route ahead of major works
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Coton Hill, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 27th January 2026 from 20:00 to 06:00 28th January 2026
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, replace defective manhole frame and cover.

Date & Duration: 26th January 2026 for 7 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Cadent Gas, Main replacement scheme

Purpose: Road Closure - Level Crossing Maintenance

Purpose: Road Closure - Packing of bearers and masonry repairs required.

Purpose: LED Upgrade Programme
