What is happening?

THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicestershire County Council intends not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make the following Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1984. The works will be completed within the period of the Orders. The Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders are being enforced for public safety.

VARIOUS FOOTPATHS, MARKET HARBOROUGH

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC

INCLUDING PEDESTRIANS, EQUESTRIANS 

& NON-MOTORISED TRAFFIC

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY ORDER 2026

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/02/2026 and have a maximum duration of 12 weeks. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 6 days to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake footway patching works. The proposed diversion route will be via: Park Dr, Leicester Rd, Bowden Ln, Burnmill Rd & vice versa.

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/02/2026 and have a maximum duration of 12 weeks. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 10 days at each location to allow BT Openreach to undertake new installation works. The proposed diversion route will be signed on site.

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/02/2026 and have a maximum duration of 10 weeks. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 2 days to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway patching works. The proposed diversion route will be signed on site.

The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 5 days to allow Francis Jackson to undertake S278 works. The proposed diversion route will be via: Ullesthorpe Rd, A426, Gilmorton Ln & vice versa.

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 14/02/2026 and have a maximum duration of 10 weeks. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 10 days to allow Newline Civils to undertake drainage connection works.

TEMPORARY IMPLEMENTATION OF 50 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION

TEMPORARY IMPLEMENTATION OF 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ORDER 2026

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 17/02/2026 and have a maximum duration of 12 months. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 5 months to allow SafeSpace Traffic Management & Henworth Construction Ltd acting on behalf of Leicestershire County Council to undertake development works, utility connections & infrastructure improvement works. This Order may also accommodate third party works. The proposed diversion route will be via: A5 Watling St, Lutterworth, Monks Kirby & Churchover; A426 Rugby Rd, Cotesbach & Lutterworth & vice versa. No speed limit imposed by this order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

Lutterworth Southern Bypass for its entire length, Beaufort Blvd from the derestricted sign approx. 20m South of Coventry Rd to the R/bout with Coventry Rd, Coventry Rd from Hunter Blvd Bitteswell to Lutterworth Southern Bypass – Lutterworth.

VARIOUS ROADS, HARBOROUGH DISTRICT

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 18/02/2026 and have a maximum duration of 12 weeks. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 3 days at each location to allow Severn Trent Water to undertake new connections & maintenance works. The proposed diversion route will be signed on site.

MARKET HARBOROUGH

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

The Order will come into force on 27/01/2026 and have a maximum duration of 12 weeks. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 1 day to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake bridge sign installation works. The proposed diversion route will be signed on site.

SCHEDULE 1

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC

Rockingham Rd, Kettering Rd, Market Harborough for approx. 60m East & Westbound on both railway bridges.

LUTTERWORTH ROAD, SHAWELL

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

The Order will come into force on 27/01/2026 and have a maximum duration of 12 weeks. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 2 days to allow National Grid to undertake replacement of overhead cables. The proposed diversion route will be via: Gibbet Ln, Rugby Rd, Shawell Rd & vice versa.

SCHEDULE 1

DOG LANE, SOUTH KILWORTH

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026

The Order will come into force on 19/01/2026 and have a maximum duration of 10 weeks. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 5 days to allow Severn Trent Water to undertake sewer repair & maintenance works. The proposed diversion route will be via: Rugby Rd, Welford Rd & vice versa.
