Arundel: Jarvis Road Traffic Calming Measures 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC, under the provisions of the Highways Act 1980 (Traffic calming) Regulations intends to install a raised traffic calming feature on Jarvis Road in Arundel, mid-way between its junctions with Pearson Road and Herington Road.

The feature would be a full width raised speed-table constructed in black McAdam and would be combined with tactile paving on the adjacent footway to create an uncontrolled crossing point. The new feature would be constructed to a hight not exceeding 65MM.

Full details of the proposals in this notice can be viewed on the Traffic Regulation Order page of the WSCC website. The website includes a response form for any comments or objections.

People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.

Any comments or objections about the proposal must be received before 5 February 2026. (Sompting: Public Footpath 2071) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Public Footpath 2071 in Sompting, from its junction with Dancton Lane, north-westwards to its junction with the A27.

The closure of this route is needed to maintain safety while a property development is constructed on adjacent land.

The Order will come into effect on 1 February 2026 and remain in force for 6 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

Unfortunately, during the operative period of this Order, no direct alternative route is available via the public rights of way network.

(Arundel: Poling Street) (Temporary Night-Time Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Poling Street in Arundel throughout its entire length. This restriction will operate overnight only, from 1800 hours to 0600 hours the following morning.

The road closure is needed to maintain safety while new telecommunications cables are installed.

The Order will come into effect on 19 January 2026 and remain in force until 26 January 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order access to properties will be maintained at all times.

((Adur District) (Parking Places & Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation) Order 2009)

(Shoreham-By-Sea: Swiss Gardens Amendment) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC proposes to make a permanent Traffic regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce new waiting restrictions on Swiss Gardens in Shoreham-By-Sea.

The proposed restrictions include prohibiting waiting at any time (double yellow lines) on lengths of the northern side of the road. It is also proposed to prohibit waiting from 0900 hours to 1700 hours Mon-Fri on various lengths of both sides of the road, and to formalise an existing bay for disabled persons’ blue badge holders on the southern side of the road.

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC proposes to make a permanent Traffic regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to e xtend existing double yellow lines at the crossroads junction of Glebeside Avenue, Orchard Avenue and Wiston Avenue in Worthing. These changes are needed to accommodate a new traffic calming feature as detailed below:
