(C12a Cocken Road, Leamside) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026

The Council on 9/1/2026 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road. A 1.51 kilometres length of the C12a Cocken Road, Leamside from approximately 66 metres east of Number 1 Cocken Road at the eastern side of closure in a westerly direction to approximately 184 metres east of the junction with Unc 13.12 Cocken Lane to enable new water main installation works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic from east side of closure in a northerly direction on Pithouse Lane then west on C8a/Front Street then south on Cocken Lane to western end of closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence at 8am on Monday 19/1/2026 and anticipated to be completed in 20 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
