(Temporary Closure) Order 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close the route formed by public footpaths 65Cr and 8bCu in the parishes of Cuckfield and Ansty & Staplefield from its junction with the A272 southwards to its junction with Public Footpath 62Cr.
The closure of this route is needed due to the unsafe condition of a footbridge on the affected route.
The Order continues the effect of a previous Order and will come into effect on 21 January 2026. It is expected to remain in effect for 6 months and may need to be extended after this period.
Unfortunately, during the operative period of this order, no direct alternative route is available.

(Ardingly and West Hoathly: Public Footpath 39AR/27WH)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State has granted permission to extend the operation of the above Temporary Traffic Regulation Order, currently in place to temporarily close the route formed by public footpaths 39AR in Ardingly and 27WH in West Hoathly, from its junction with Public Footpath 2AR in Ardingly, eastwards to its junction with Hook Lane in West Hoathly.
The extended closure of this route is needed to allow an unsafe footbridge to be replaced.
The extended Order will remain in place until 16 January 2027, or until works to replace the footbridge are completed, whichever is earlier.
Unfortunately, during the operative period of the Order no direct alternative route is available via the public rights of way network.
