What is happening?
THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
(EMSCOTE GROVE, HALIFAX)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Calderdale Council, because of works by Northern Gas Networks, intend to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the length of Emscote Grove from outside No. 2 Emscote Grove to outside No. 5 Emscote Grove for a distance of approximately 20 metres. PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with works being carried out and pedestrian access is maintained at all times and access for emergency vehicles is maintained via the diversion route. The alternative route is the unaffected part of Emscote Grove, Emscote Street South, Moorfield Street and vice versa. It is proposed that the Order will come into operation on 2nd February 2026 and remain in force for a maximum 18 months, notwithstanding that the works may be completed sooner and the road re-opened on 13th March 2026. The Order will be in operation 24 hours daily during this period.
(JUBILEE ROAD, SIDDAL)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Calderdale Council, because of works by Yorkshire Water, have made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the length of Jubilee Road from the junction of Huddersfield Road to outside No. 143 Jubilee Road for a distance of approximately 40 metres. PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with works being carried out and pedestrian access is maintained at all times and access for emergency vehicles is maintained at all times. The alternative route is via Salterhebble Hill, Huddersfield Road, Shaw Hill, Water Lane, Siddal Road, White Gate Road and Oxford Lane. It is proposed that the Order will come into operation on 19th January 2026 and remain in force for a maximum 18 months, notwithstanding that the works may be completed sooner and the road re-opened on 20th January 2026. The Order will be in operation between 19:00 and 06:00 hours daily during this period.
(PROSPECT STREET, HALIFAX)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Calderdale Council, because of works by Calderdale Council, have made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the length of Prospect Street from the junction of New Bank to the junction of Portland Road for a distance of approximately 40 metres. PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with works being carried out and access for emergency vehicles is maintained at all times. Diversion will be signed on site. It is proposed that the Order will come into operation on 19th January 2026 and remain in force for a maximum 18 months, notwithstanding that the works may be completed sooner and the road re-opened on 18th August 2027. The Order will be in operation 24 hours daily during this period.
(CASTLE LANE, TODMORDEN)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Calderdale Council, because of works by JN Civils, intend to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the length of Castle Lane from the junction of Halifax Road to outside Castle Naze Cottage for a distance of approximately 50 metres. PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with works being carried out and pedestrian access is maintained at all times and access for emergency vehicles is maintained at all times. The alternative route is via the unaffected part of Castle Lane, Shakespear Avenue, Broadstone Street, Cross Stone Road, Halifax Road and vice versa. It is proposed that the Order will come into operation on 2nd February 2026 and remain in force for a maximum 18 months, notwithstanding that the works may be completed sooner and the road re-opened on 4th February 2026. The Order will be in operation 24 hours daily during this period.
(BLACKLEDGE, HALIFAX)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Calderdale Council, because of works by Galliford Try, intend to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed westbound in the length of Blackledge from the junction of Square Road to the junction of Thomas Street for a distance of approximately 170 metres.
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with works being carried out and pedestrian access is maintained at all times and access for emergency vehicles is maintained at all times via the diversion and vehicular access is maintained at all times via the diversion route. The alternative route for westbound traffic is via Horton Street. Eastbound access is maintained. See map on site. Blue (Diversion Route), Green (One Way Only). It is proposed that the Order will come into operation on 5th February 2026 and remain in force for a maximum 18 months, notwithstanding that the works may be completed sooner and the road re-opened on 12th October 2027. The Order will be in operation 24 hours daily during this period.
(CHARLES STREET/SQUARE ROAD/CHURCH STREET/SOUTH PARADE, HALIFAX)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Calderdale Council, because of works by Galliford Try, intend to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed northbound in the length of Charles Street/Square Road/Church Street/South Parade from the junction of King Street to the junction of Hunger Hill for a distance of approximately 710 metres. PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with works being carried out and pedestrian access is maintained at all times and access for emergency vehicles is maintained at all times via the diversion and vehicular access is maintained at all times via the diversion route. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Skircoat Road, Portland Place, Commercial Street, Fountain Street, Barum Top, Bull Green, Cow Green, Broad Street, Northgate, and Winding Road. It is proposed that the Order will come into operation on 5th February 2026 and remain in force for a maximum 18 months, notwithstanding that the works may be completed sooner and the road re-opened on 2nd June 2027. (CRIPPLEGATE/ LOWER KIRKGATE, HALIFAX)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Calderdale Council, because of works by Galliford Try, intend to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed northbound in the length of Cripplegate/Lower Kirkgate from the junction of Berry Lane to the junction of King Street for a distance of approximately 150 metres. PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with works being carried out and pedestrian access is maintained at all times and access for emergency vehicles is maintained at all times via the diversion and vehicular access is maintained at all times via the diversion route. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Skircoat Road, Portland Place, Commercial Street, Fountain Street, Barum Top, Bull Green, Cow Green, Broad Street, Northgate, Winding Road, and King Street. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Calderdale Council, because of works by Galliford Try, intend to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed eastbound in the length of Bank Bottom from the junction of Cripplegate to the junction of Southowram Bank for a distance of approximately 135 metres. PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with works being carried out and pedestrian access is maintained at all times and access for emergency vehicles is maintained at all times via the diversion and vehicular access is maintained at all times via the diversion route. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Skircoat Road, Portland Place, Commercial Street, Fountain Street, Barum Top, Bull Green, Cow Green, Broad Street, Orange Street, Burdock Way, New Bank, and Charlestown Road.
