Public Footpath No.16 - Temporary Footpath Closure
What is happening?
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.16, SOMERCOTES
WHEN: 02 February to 31 July 2026.
WHERE: Close the whole of footpath No.16.
REASON: To facilitate public safety during construction enabling works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: From the west closure point travel east along Birchwood Lane. Take the first left to meet the eastern closure point. Vice versa from the east.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
