DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTIONS OF WAITING, STOPPING AND PARKING PLACES ARTICLES) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that, on the 8th of January 2026 the Derbyshire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on the 19th January 2026 and its effect is:
To introduce the static articles that will be used for Traffic Regulation Orders within Derbyshire County Council and they will reflect developments and updates in the introduction of restrictions on street. Examples include the ability to pay by phone for parking on street and the development of paperless or virtual permits.
The change to the articles ensures that the layout, paragraph numbering and the text based schedule numbers are the same through all the separate static orders that are to be processed. This ensures that the layout is familiar to those processing and enforcing the restrictions and also introduces a familiar format for members of the public wishing to see or review the Orders.
This layout of articles will be used throughout Derbyshire for all the permanent, temporary and experimental static traffic orders.
A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, at the local Council offices of Amber Valley Borough Council, Bolsover District Council, Chesterfield Borough Council, Derbyshire Dales District Council, Erewash Borough Council, High Peak Borough Council, North East Derbyshire District Council and South Derbyshire District Council, during opening hours and on request by emailing

place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov.uk

until 6 weeks after the Order is made until the 19th February 2026. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that a requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the 8th of January 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
Dated: 14th January 2026. Julian Gould, Highways Director - Place, Derbyshire County Council, County Hall, Matlock, Derbyshire DE4 3AG
