Main Street - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
MAIN STREET,
MIDDLETON BY WIRKSWORTH
WHEN: 25 January 2026 (between 09:30 and 15:30).
WHERE: Main Street, Middleton by Wirksworth between No. 18a and No. 48.
REASON: To facilitate remedial works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Main Street, The Green, New Road, Ryder Point Road, Via Gellia Road, Chapel Hill, Water Lane, The Hill, Porter Lane, Rise End and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
