What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
PART OF MAIN STREET, FRAISTHORPE
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part
of Main Street, Fraisthorpe over Fraisthorpe Bridge
and approximately 50 metres either side of the bridge
commencing 2 February 2026 until 29 May 2026.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
Main Street, Fraisthorpe demolition of the existing
bridge and installation of a new bridge works, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within
117 days. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the Order is via Main Street, Sands Road and
A165 Bridlington Road.
The road will be closed to all traffic without exception
and to pedestrians (due to the nature of the works).
The Order will commence 2 February 2026 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
