RAISED SPEED TABLE – COMMON ROAD,
SOUTH KIRKBY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Council of the City of Wakefield, in exercise of powers conferred by Section 90 of the Highways Act 1980, propose to remove and introduce traffic calming measures along Common Road, South Kirkby, Pontefract.
These proposals are required due to repeated failures of several Yorkshire Water frames and covers within the existing speed table outside 2 Mill Close, the existing speed table will be removed and replaced with a new speed table outside 1 Mill Close:
i. C ommon Road, outside property no 2 Mill Close,
Removal of Speed Table ii. C ommon Road, outside property no 1 Mill Close, Installation of Speed Table
The Speed Table will be an elevated section of carriageway, with a plateau and approach ramps. Any objections or representations regarding the proposals should be sent in writing to; Traffic Regulations, Wakefield Council, Highways, PO Box 700, Burton Street, Wakefield, WF1 2EB by quoting reference YWDR/NOTICE/LF by 5th February 2026.
