ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

(Park Place & York Place, Leeds) 

(Temporary Suspension of Parking Bays) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because scaffolding works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highways, Leeds City Council has today made an Order the effect of which is that: 1. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or park in any of the 4 parking bays situated along Park Place; Leeds; adjacent to Bank House at the junction with King Street, Leeds. 2. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or park in any of the 5 parking bays situated along York Place, Leeds; opposite Bank House at the junction with King Street. The restriction contained in Paragraph 1 will continue in effect 24 hours per day, from 15 January 2026 onwards. It is expected to be required until 24 February 2026. The restriction contained in Paragraph 2 is expected to be required from 19:00 hours in the evening until 07:00 hours the following morning; during the periods 16 January to 27 January and 26 February until 3 March 2026. (York Road, Burmantofts, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Right Turns) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because carriageway resurfacing works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order, the effect of which will be that No person shall cause any vehicle to turn right on York Road, Leeds, at its cross over junctions with Oak Tree Lane and outside of the Cemetery. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the restrictions will be available via: York Road, Selby Road, Lyme Chase. The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 26 January 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Hungate Lane, Methley, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because gas main replacement works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s), Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order, the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along: Phase 1: Hungate Lane, Methley; from its junction with Newmarket Lane, to a point adjacent to Home Farm. Phase 2: Hungate Lane, Methley; from a point adjacent to Home Farm, to a point adjacent to property no. 20 Hungate Lane. Diversionary routes for vehicles affected by the closures will be available in each case via: Hungate Lane, Newmarket Lane and vice versa. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on 23 January 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. The closures will be in place for 24 hrs per day on weekdays only. Phase 1 is planned to be undertaken between 23 January and 24 February 2026. (Westfield Lane, Kippax, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because Gas pipe works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Westfield Lane, Kippax, Leeds in the Kippax & Methley Ward; from a point adjacent to property number 2 Kempton Road, to junction with Kempton Road. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Kempton Road, Ebor Mount, Leeds Road. The Order is intended to come into operation on Friday 30 January 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Seventh Avenue, Woodlesford, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because electrical supply connection works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s), Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order, the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Seventh Avenue, Woodlesford, Leeds in the Rothwell Ward, at a point adjacent to property number 18. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Sixth Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Eighth Avenue and vice versa. Essential access to and from premises will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Tuesday 27 January 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Ring Road Beeston, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Left Turn) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because core sampling works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order, the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to turn left along Ring Road Beeston, Leeds, at its junction with Millshaw. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Ring Road Beeston, Dewsbury Road, Old Lane. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on 26 January 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because core sampling works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s); Leeds City Council intends in not less than 7 days to make an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to turn right along TIngley Common, at its junction with Capitol Boulevard. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the restriction will be available via: Tingley Common, Rein Road, Britannia Road and Tingley Common (southbound). Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on 26 January 2026 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Temporary Traffic Management Measures) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger arising to the public (holding of events); Leeds City Council intends (in not less than 7 days) to make an Order, the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause any vehicle to stop (between Midnight and 23:59 hours, on the event dates specified below) on sections of: St Michael’s La; Beechwood Cres; Kirkstall La; Headingley Mount; Cardigan Rd; Victoria Rd; St Michael’s Grove; St Michael’s Road; Canterbury Road; Headingley Ave; Estcourt Ave; St Anne’s Drive & Lane; St Ann’s Way & Square (the whole); Queenswood Rise (the whole); Stanmore Cres; Stanmore Terr (the whole); Bentcliffe Drive; Batcliffe Mount; St Chad’s Drive; St Chad’s View; Beckett’s Park Drive; Newport View and Newport Cres.The Order is intended to come into operation as necessary for the following events on the dates specified below: (Provided That should any of the matches be rescheduled, or cup matches or additional events be held during 2026, the Order will also operate on those revised/additional dates).

(Temporary Traffic Management Measures) Order.

Leeds United 2026 Fixtures (Sovereign Street & Lowfields Road)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger arising to the public (in relation to the holding of football matches at Elland Road), Leeds City Council, as traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District, has today made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to: 1. Prohibit all vehicles (other than buses), from stopping or waiting for a period exceeding 20 minutes, on that part of Sovereign St which runs for 18m in a SW direction, from the rear of the existing coach bay restriction. 2. Change the existing Loading restriction on Sovereign St to a shared Loading & Taxi restriction; and to Prohibit all vehicles (other than Hackney Carriages) from using the northern carriageway edge of that part Sovereign St, which runs for 16m, from a point 17m from its junction with Swinegate, 3. Prohibit all vehicles from proceeding along that part of Lowfields Rd; which runs from its junction with Elland Road up to the overpass with M621; (provided that such prohibition shall not extend to official vehicles being used in connection with any match). Where necessary local diversions will be in operation and signed as appropriate.

The above restrictions shall operate on any day upon which a football match is to take place at Elland Rd Stadium, Leeds. The restrictions contained in paragraphs 1 and 2 above will be in force approximately three hours before the scheduled kick-off of each match until approximately three hours from the end of each match, whilst the restriction contained in paragraphs 3 above will be in force approximately one hour before the scheduled kick-off of each match until approximately one hours from the end of each match.

Premier League matches are currently scheduled to take place on 17 & 31 Jan; 7 & 28 Feb; 4 & 21 Mar; 18 Apr; 2 & 17 May 2026 For the avoidance of doubt, the Order will also apply to the above fixture dates, (or any alternative re-scheduled match dates, together with any cup ties to be held at Elland Road during the remainder of the 2026 football season.

Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained to all premises situated on or adjacent to any road or part of road to be closed or to which restrictions apply including other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only from such a road.

(Aireborough Definitive Bridleway No.99)

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026 Off Cragg Wood Drive, Rawdon

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council is satisfied that use of the said footpath should be restricted by reason of the likelihood of danger arising to the public due to a collapse wall. The Council has therefore today made an Order, the effect of which is that: No person shall proceed along Definitive Bridleway Aireborough No.99; from its junction with Cragg Wood Drive, Rawdon; to its end point. No official diversionary is available, due to the fact that the closed section of Bridleway does not connect with any other public right of way, adopted highway or Council owned land. The Order shall come into operation on 15 January 2026 and will remain in force 24 hours per day, for a maximum period of 6 months.

Amendment Order No.9 2025 Prohibition of Vehicles (Point Closure) – Springwell Street, Holbeck, Leeds

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council, acting as Local Traffic Authority (and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers) has today made the above Amendment Order. The effect of the Amendment Order, which comes into force on 15 January 2026 is to introduce a Prohibition of All Vehicles (by way of Point Closure) at all times on Springwell Street, Holbeck, Leeds; from its junction with Wellington Street, in a south-westerly direction to its intersection with Springwell Road.
