WIRRAL BOROUGH COUNCIL – PROPOSAL TO REVOKE THE EXISTING OFF STREET PARKING ORDERS AND ADD NEW CAR PARKS TO THE CHARGING PROVISIONS AND AN OVERNIGHT PARKING CHARGE TO ALL CAR PARKS SCHEME REF TO/25/28

Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council in exercise of its powers intends to make an order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 32, 33, 34, 35, 35A, 35B & 35C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, called the Wirral Borough Council (Off-Street Pay and Display Parking Places) Order, 2026 the effect of which is to;

  1. revoke the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral (Off-Street Pay and Display Parking Places) Order 2015 (as amended) and the subsequent notice of variation of charges notices in their entirety, and,

  2. vary the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2003 to remove certain car parks from Schedule 2,

    and replace them with a new order which will–

  3. consolidate the terms of the existing off street pay and display traffic order and subsequent amendments and the notice of variation of charges notices, and,

  4. add 22 off-street car parking places listed in the order to introduce parking charges, standardised operational times and terms and conditions of use in those car parks,

  5. introduce an overnight parking fee at all off-street car parking places covered by the order.

The effect of the order is to consolidate the terms of the current off street pay and display parking order and the subsequent amendments and variations made to it in relation to the existing charged for car parks, remove certain car parks from the existing off street free parking order, introduce parking charges, standardised operational times and terms and conditions of use to 22 existing free to park off street parking places and to introduce an overnight parking fee at all charged for off street parking places.

There will be no charge for disabled person vehicles displaying a blue badge.

The maximum period of waiting are – 24 hours if appropriate charge has been paid

between the times of 10.00 and 16.00 Monday to Friday inclusive.
