What is happening?
THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 202*. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 202*. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 202*. THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.**) ORDER 202*
NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, intends to make the above Orders under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The general effect of the Orders will be to:
1. Introduce a prohibition of No Right Turn from Blundell Road into Marsh Road.
2. Introduce the off-street Luton Town Football Club (LTFC) car park in Hazelbury Cresecent as a pay-by-phone/pay and display car park. This parking place will be in operation at all times with exception to LTFC Match Days. All vehicles parked must vacate the LTFC car park by midnight on the day before an LTFC Match Day, any vehicle parked on an LTFC Match Day will be issued with a penalty charge notice and removed from the car park. During non-LTFC Match Day the parking charges for use of the car park during 8am to 6pm would be: £1.20 for up to 30 minutes, £1.70 for up to 1 hour, £3.50 for up to 2 hours. During non-LTFC Match Day the parking charges for use of the car park during 6pm to 8am would be £2.00 for overnight. These parking charges are subject to increase or decrease in line with the Councils annually reviewed scale of charges.
3. From The Borough of Luton (Traffic Management) Order 2011, revoke and remove the expression and reference for “cycle lane” from Part I, section 2. And insert this expression and reference as an interpretation in Article 2 of The Borough of Luton (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) (Consolidation) Order 2012.
4. From The Borough of Luton (Traffic Management) Order 2011, revoke and remove Schedule 16 Cycle Lanes. And insert this Schedule as a new Schedule 5 Cycle Lanes in The Borough of Luton (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading) (Consolidation) Order 2012.
5. On Calnwood Road, between 10 metres north-east of Lewsey Road and the unnamed access road adjacent to Calnwood Court:
(a) to remove all of the existing goods vehicle loading bays;
(b) to provide free, 30 minutes maximum stay (no return for 1 hour) parking places on the south-east side, adjacent to No.10 Lewsey Road (20-metre parking place), outside No.2 Calnwood Road (5.5-metre parking place), outside No’s.6 and 8 Calnwood Road (10-metre parking place), outside No’s.10 and 12 Calnwood Road (9-metre parking place), and outside No’s.16 and 18 Calnwood Road (9-metre parking place); and
(c) to provide ‘at any time’ waiting and loading restrictions, except where the free parking places referred to in sub-paragraph (b) preceding, would be provided.
