Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
MAIDSTONE AREA
A20 London Road, A20 Terrace Road & B2246 Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, ME16 0DZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF WEIGHT RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of A20 London Road & A20 Terrace Road, Maidstone, on or after 21st January 2026 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed. The weight restriction on B2246 Hermitage Lane will be temporarily suspended to allow for diversion.
A20 London Road will be closed between A20 Terrace Road and Bower Mount Road, between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A20 Terrace Road will be closed in its entirety, between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The weight restriction on B2246 Hermitage Lane will be temporarily suspended, between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00 only, to allow for diversion.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 London Road, B2246 Hermitage Lane, B2246 Fountain Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road and vice versa.
B2163 Heath Road, Boughton Monchelsea, ME17 4JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow electric works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Heath Road, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 19th January 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of 3 Marlpit Cottages. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Heath Road, Linton Road, Loose Road, Sutton Road, Plough Wents Road and vice versa.
Amber Lane, Chart Sutton, ME17 3RL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow drainage cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Amber Lane, Chart Sutton, on or after 5th February 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Chart Hill Road and the junction with Laxton Drive, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Warmlake Road, Chart Corner, B2163 Plough Wents Road, Brishing Road, Amber Lane and vice versa.
Barnes Lane, Linton, ME17 4BQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fire hydrant maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barnes Lane, Linton, on or after 2nd February 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Bramley Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barnes Lane, Vanity Lane, B2163 Heath Road, Westerhill Road, Barnes Lane and vice versa.
Battle Lane, Marden (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow frame and cover repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Battle Lane, Marden, on or after 20th January 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Little Wanshurst. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Battle Lane, B2079 Maidstone Road, Howland Road, Battle Lane and vice versa.
Chartway Street, Sutton Valence, ME17 3JD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow carriageway repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chartway Street, Sutton Valence, on or after 19th January 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Homefield House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chartway Street, Lenham Road, Headcorn Road, Liverton Hill, Headcorn Road, Lenham Road, Kings Road, A274 Mill Bank, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 North Street, Chartway Street and vice versa.
Grecian Street, Maidstone, ME14 2TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow new water service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grecian Street, Maidstone, on or after 21st January 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between property numbers 14 and 26. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grecian Street, Boxley Road, B2012 Well Road, B2012 Holland Road, Wheeler Street, Grecian Street and vice versa.
Green Lane, Collier Street, TN12 9RB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow new stopcock and water meter installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Green Lane, Collier Street, on or after 19th January 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Brook Bungalow. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Green Lane, Hunton Road, East Street, West Street, Vicarage Road, B2010 High Street, B2162 Benover Road, B2162 Collier Street, Green Lane and vice versa.
Greenway Forstal, Harrietsham, ME17 1LB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Greenway Forstal, Harrietsham, on or after 6th February 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the entrance to Hollowdene, for a distance approximately 100 metres in a West direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Greenway Forstal, Holm Mill Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Greenway Court Road, Greenway Forstal and vice versa.
Grigg Lane, Headcorn, TN27 9LT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow stopcock repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grigg Lane, Headcorn, on or after 21st January 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Grigg Oasts. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grigg Lane, Southernden Road, Lenham Road, Forge Lane, Oak Lane, Grigg Lane and vice versa.
Hawkenbury Road, Staplehurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow stopcock meter replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hawkenbury Road, Staplehurst, on or after 19th January 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Little Newstead Barn. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hawkenbury Road, Four Oaks Road, Plumtree Road, Four Oaks Road, Summerhill, Moat Road, Water Lane, Headcorn Road, Staplehurst Road, Frittenden Road, A229 High Street, Headcorn Road, Hawkenbury Road and vice versa.
Peens Lane, Boughton Monchelsea (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fire hydrant maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Peens Lane, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 2nd February 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Gravitts Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Peens Lane, Church Hill, Lower Farm Road, Long Lane, Peens Lane and vice versa.
Pilgrims Way, Thurnham, ME14 3LL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Thurnham, on or after 19th January 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Thurnham Lane, for a distance approximately 1000 metres in an East direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pilgrims Way, Thurnham Lane, Ware Street, The Green, The Street, Roundwell, A20 Ashford Road, Eyhorne Street, Upper Street, Pilgrims Way and vice versa.
Roseacre Lane, Bearsted, ME14 4JU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Roseacre Lane, Bearsted, on or after 19th January 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside property number 52 to outside property number 64. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Roseacre Lane, The Landway, Plantation Lane, Roseacre Lane and vice versa.
Sandling Road, Maidstone, ME14 2TA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Road, Maidstone, on or after 20th January 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from property number 94 to the side of property number 96. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Albert Street, Perry Street, Arundel Street, Fisher Street, Randall Street, Scott Street, Hope Street, Sandling Road and vice versa.
St Helens Lane, West Farleigh, ME15 0JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow a new gas connection to be installed, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Helens Lane, West Farleigh, on or after 2nd February 2026 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 4 St Helens Cottages. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.
Straw Mill Hill, Stockett Lane & Cave Hill, Tovil, ME15 6AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow storm drainage installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Straw Mill Hill, Stockett Lane & Cave Hill, Tovil, on or after 19th January 2026 for up to 21 days or until the works have been completed.
Straw Mill Hill will be closed at the junction of Cave Hill. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Cave Hill to Straw Mill Hill through traffic is via Cave Hill, Hayle Mill Road, Teasaucer Hill, Cripple Street, A229 Loose Road, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, B2010 College Road, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 Tovil Hill, Straw Mill Hill.
The alternative route for any Cave Hill to Stockett Lane through traffic is via Cave Hill, Hayle Mill Road, Teasaucer Hill, Cripple Street, A229 Loose Road, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road, Stockett Lane and vice versa.
Upper Street, Broomfield, ME17 1PS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water asset maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Upper Street, Broomfield, on or after 2nd February 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Thorndycroft. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Street, Broomfield Road, A20 Ashford Road, Chegworth Road, Lenham Road, Gravelly Bottom Road, Broomfield Road, Upper Street and vice versa.
Waterloo Street, Maidstone, ME15 7RQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Waterloo Street, Maidstone, on or after 2nd February 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Kingsley Road, for a distance approximately 30 metres in an East direction to the junction with Basing Close, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Waterloo Street, Hastings Road, Mote Road, Kingsley Road and vice versa.
