What is happening?
PUBLIC NOTICE
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(MARKET SQUARE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding along Market Square closed in its entirety to the public with the one-way system reversed to allow access/egress for construction site traffic only.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months it is anticipated that the road closure will be in place from 08:00 on the 12th January 2026 until 18:00 on the 12th July 2027 (approximately).
The Order is required to facilitate the construction of a new development.
