What is happening?

(Creeksea Ferry Road, Canewdon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Creeksea Ferry Road, Canewdon in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 1000m south east, north east, south east then north east of its junction with Lambourne Hall Road for a distance of approximately 485m in a north easterly, south easterly, north easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st February 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008PLT316321 7530032025 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

The Order will come into effect on 15th January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Dry Street, Langdon Hills) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dry Street, Langdon Hills in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 85m south west of its junction with Nether Mayne for a distance of approximately 280m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd February 2026 for 2 nights (19:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP40063778337 – Redrow Homes). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. One.Network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while roadworks are undertaken by Redrow Homes.

The alternative route is available via Dry Street, A176, The Knares, B1007, Dry Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 15th January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Miles Gray Road, Pipps Hill Industrial) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Miles Gray Road, Pipps Hill Industrial in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 305m south west of its junction with Chester Hall Lane for a distance of approximately 395m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd February 2026 for 26 nights (19:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2395113 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while replacement kerb and carriageway repairs works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Chester Hall Lane, Bentalls, Chester Hall Lane Roundabout, Cranes Farm Road, Miles Gray Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 15th January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Outwood Common Road, Billericay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Outwood Common Road, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Outwood Common Road North to its junction with Greenway for a distance of approximately 560m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd February 2026 for 40 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013212997 – Essex and Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Outwood Common Road, Greens Farm Lane, Meadow Rise, Millway, Outwood Common Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 15th January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Pipps Hill Road North, Billericay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Pipps Hill Road North, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 70m south east of its junction with Wash Road for a distance of approximately 65m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th February 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411002WG8FGL4T – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

The Order will come into effect on 15th January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Southwick, Canvey Island) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Southwick, Canvey Island in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with Hertford Road to its junction with Southwick Gardens for a distance of approximately 60m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd February 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30069486645 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cable installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Southwick Road, Beverley Avenue, Craven Avenue, Long Road, Southwick Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 15th January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Thackeray Row, Wickford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Thackeray Row, Wickford in the Borough of Basildon from both of its junctions with Cedar Avenue for a distance of approximately 110m in a north westerly direction. The footpath closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd February 2026 for 29 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001468008 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The footpath closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Thackeray Row, Cedar Avenue, Brook Drive and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 15th January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, Borough of Basildon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Streetworks No.2) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the Borough of Basildon, as detailed in the Schedule.

The closures are scheduled to commence after 15th January 2026, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and access will be maintained where possible for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the exact dates of the closures by the placement of advance warning signs on the roads.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent Gas.

The Order will come into effect on 15th January 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily introduce a 40mph speed restriction on those lengths of road in the District of Rochford, as detailed in the Schedule.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 15th January 2026; exact dates will be specified on One.Network. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.9) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Rochford as specified in the Schedule.

2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per the schedule to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

The "Essex County Council (Rochford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) (On Street Parking Places) Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary "No Waiting at Any Time" restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order  and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 15th January 2026; exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
