Northumberland, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

U8289 TYNEDALE TERRACE HEXHAM (TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular and pedestrian traffic on that section of the U8289 Tynedale Terrace Hexham from its junction with U8289 Westfield Terrace for a entire length in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 1st February 2026 until the 31st March 2026.

It is expected that the road and footway will only be closed from the 1st February 2026 until the 6th March 2026 between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 31st March 2026.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Whetstone Bridge Road, Hellpool Lane, Westfield Terrace and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Express Traffic Management for TV filming. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

U8210 THORNTON HOUSE BACK LANE TO HAGG BANK WYLAM (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U8210 Thornton House Back Lane to Hagg Bank Wylam from its junction with Railway Cottages, Hagg Bank heading in a southerly direction for a distance of 55 metres in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 26th January 2026 until the 6th February 2026.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 26th January 2026 until the 2nd February 2026 between the hours of 01:00 and 06:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 6th February 2026.

There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic.

The closure has been requested by TMT to repair a bridge. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

U8291 HALLSTILE BANK HEXHAM (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U8291 Hallstile Bank Hexham from its junction with U8288 Back Row heading in an easterly direction for a distance of 58 metres in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 23rd January 2026 until the 31st October 2026.

It is expected that the road will be closed from the 23rd January 2026 until the 31st October 2026 and that it will be closed at all times during this period.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being U8291, U8290 and U8288 and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly. Pedestrians are to follow the signposted diversions in place.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council due to the likelihood of danger to the public following a partial building collapse. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
