What is happening?

PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wolverhampton City Council propose to make the following Order under Sections 1, 2,124(1)(d) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order is as follows:
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (CITY CENTRE) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND STREET PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO 1) ORDER 2026
This Order will prohibit any vehicle to:
• stop at any time on any day in any duly authorised hackney carriage stand except a licensed hackney carriage other than for the purpose of plying for hire in parts of Market Street and Castle Street as specified on the plans;
• wait at any time on any day and to load and unload at any time on any day in parts of Tower Street as specified on the plans;
• wait in a disabled person’s parking place unless there is displayed on that vehicle in the relevant position a valid disabled person’s badge for a period no longer than 3 hours with no return within 1 hour at any time on any day in parts of Tower Street; Provided that the vehicle immediately before or after the act of parking has been or is about to be driven or used by the person the to whom the badge has been issued or as the cause may be, used for the carrying of disabled person(s) as passenger(s) as specified on the Plan.
Existing Traffic Regulation Orders will be revoked to the extent necessary to facilitate the provisions of this Order.
A copy of the Order, Statement of Reason and Plans showing the parts of the roads affected by the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at Main Reception, Civic Centre, St Peter's Square, Wolverhampton viewed or online at

Any objection(s) to the proposed Order should be made in writing to the undersigned by Friday 2026 stating 30 January the ground(s) for the objection(s).
