(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (B6438 Reston) (Temporary Closing) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 09:00 on 13 January 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 21:00 on 16 January 2026. The Order is required for Scottish Water Iron works repair.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the B6438 Reston at the junction with the A1.
The alternative routes are as follows:
Vehicles 14 feet and under
Eastbound traffic is via the B6438, B6437, A1 and B6438 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
Vehicles 14 feet and over
Eastbound traffic is via the B6438, A6112, A1 and B6438 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(TEMPORARY NO WAITING) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (A6105 Langtongate, Duns) (Temporary No Waiting) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 12 January 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 23:59 on 14 January 2026. The Order is required for BT manhole cover repairs.
When the Order comes into effect, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on Langtongate, Duns from Number 3 Langtongate to Volunteer Hall. A two-way traffic lights system shall be in operation.

(A697 WEST HIGH STREET, GREENLAW) (TEMPORARY NO WAITING) ORDER 2026
The Scottish Borders Council (A697 West High Street, Greenlaw)
(Temporary No Waiting) Order 2026 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 13 January 2026 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
The Order is required for Openreach works.
When the Order comes into effect, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on both sides of the following roads in Greenlaw:
(i) A697 West High Street – from number 28 in an easterly direction for approximately 130 metres;
(ii) Todholes – from its junction with the A697 West High Street for approximately 30 metres; and
(iii) D78/5 at Mill Wynd – from its junction with the A697 West High Street for approximately 30 to 35 metres.
A four-way traffic lights system shall be in operation.
