What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRIDLEWAY LITTLE BERKHAMSTED 18

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians, horseriders, and cyclists from using that length of Bridleway Little Berkhamsted 18, heading south from junction with Lower Hatfield Road, for an approximate distance of 170m.

Alternative Route: via Little Berkhamsted 4, riders and cyclists via Little Berkhamsted 26

The purpose of the Order is to enable utilities works to take place.

The section of Bridleway Little Berkhamsted 18 will be closed on or after 27 January 2026 for up to 1 day, when signs are in place.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROWNEY LANE, DANE END) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rowney Lane, Dane End from a point 30m south west of its junction with Sacombe Public Byway Open to All Traffic No.001 (Lowgate Lane) south westwards for a distance of approximately 70m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Rowney Lane, Whitehill, Munden Road, Sacombe Pound, Sacombe Green Road and Rowney Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A119 NORTH ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A119 North Road, Hertford from its junction with Cedar Close north westwards to its junction with the Beane Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 117m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via A119 (North Road/Cross Lane), A414 (Hertingfordbury Road/Gascoyne Way/London Road/Rush Green Link), A10 (unnamed road), A602 (Wadesmill Road/Tonwell Bypass/Ware Road) and A119 (Hertford Road/High Road/North Road).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED THE REAR OF NOS.77-91 HERONGATE ROAD, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated the rear of Nos.77-91 Herongate Road, Cheshunt from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.89 Herongate south westwards for a distance of approximately 23m (“the Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footpath situated the rear of Nos.77-91 Herongate Road, the footpath situated on the north side of No.91 Herongate Road, the footway situated on the west side of Herongate Road, the footpath situated on the south side of No.77 Herongate Road and the footpath situated the rear of Nos.77-91 Herongate Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cherry Green Lane, Westmill from a point 390m north east of its junction with Westmill Public Footpath No.001 north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with 3U20 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 1450m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Cherry Green Lane, C16 (unnamed road and 3U20 (unnamed road).

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

An alternative route will be via Pelham Road, Braughing Road, Patient End, C35 (unnamed road), C15 (unnamed road), Gravesend, Clapgate, Albury Road, Standon Road, A120 (Standon Road/Stortford Road/ Kents Lane), Station Road, High Street, Buntingford Road, B1368 (Wickham Hill/Station Road), Fore Street, The Street and Pelham Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of C16 (unnamed road)/Station Hill, Westmill from a point 34m south east of its junction with Station Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the length of Roads”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via C16 (unnamed road/Nasty/Great Munden), Mentley Lane West, A10 (Puckeridge Bypass/unnamed road) and Station Hill.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the length of Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN HERTFORD AND WATTON AT STONE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. the central reservation gap situated on A414 London Road, Hertford from its junction with the eastbound carriageway of A414 London Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 31m.

An alternative route will be via A414 London Road, the A414 Rush Green Link roundabout and A414 London Road.

2. that length of Mangrove Road, Hertford from its junction with A414 London Road south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 128m.

An alternative route will be via A414 (London Road/Gascoyne Way), B158 Hale Road, Hale Road, Queens Road, Hagsdell Road and Mangrove Road.

3. that length of Thieves Lane South, Hertford from its junction with the A414 Hertingfordbury Road/A414 Cole Green Bypass roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the B1000 Welwyn Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 538m.

An alternative route will be via A414 Hertingfordbury Road, A119 (Cross Lane/North Road) and B1000 Welwyn Road.

4. that length of Walkern Road, Watton at Stone from its junction with High Street north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Benington Restricted Byway No.035, a distance of approximately 1493m.

An alternative route will be via High Street, Ware Road, A602 Ware Road, Whempstead Road, Town Lane and Walkern Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROSEDALE WAY, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rosedale Way, Cheshunt from its junction with Jackson Drive north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 111m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Rosedale Way, Peakes Way, Peakes Lane, Dig Dag Hill, Longfield Lane and Rosedale Way.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BLOUNTS LANE, ALLENS GREEN) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Blounts Lane, Allens Green from a point 190m south west of its junction with Sacombe Ash Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 78m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Blounts Lane, Aerodrome Road, Trimms Green, Parsonage Lane, A1184 Cambridge Road, West Road, Beanfield Road, Slough Road and Blounts Lane.

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-

1. that length of Bridleway South, Hoddesdon from its junction with Stanstead Road north westwards, south westwards, north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to the Bridleway North roundabout, a distance of approximately 701m.

An alternative route will be via Stanstead Road and Bridleway North.

2. that length of Dymokes Way, Hoddesdon from its junction with Bridleway South north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. that length of Beyers Gardens, Hoddesdon from its junction with Bridleway South south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

4. that length of Danemead, Hoddesdon from its junction with Bridleway South south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of Champions Way, Hoddesdon from its junction with Bridleway South north westwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

An alternative route will be via Stanstead Road, Burford Street, A1170 (Link Road/Amwell Street/Ware Road), B181 Station Road, Hoddesdon Road and Stanstead Road or via Stanstead Road, Hoddesdon Road, B181 Station Road, A1170 Ware Road, Duke Street and Stanstead Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 26 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

1. that length of Stanstead Drive, Hoddesdon from its junction with Stanstead Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

An alternative route will be via Stanstead Road, Middlefield Road, Fairfield Road, Tregelles Road, Highbury Avenue and Stanstead Drive.

2. that length of Murchison Road, Hoddesdon from its junction with Stanstead Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.

An alternative route will be via Wellington Street, Byde Street, Farquhar Street, Cross Road, B158 (Bengeo Street/Port Hill/ Cowbridge/Old Cross), St Andrew Street, North Road, A119 North Road and Beane Road.

The Order is needed because sewer cleaning works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HODDESDON PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.046) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Hoddesdon Public Footpath No.046 from its junction with New River Gardens north westwards for a distance of approximately 46m (“the Public Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of St Laurence Drive, the footway situated on the west side of A1170 High Road, the footpath situated on the north side of Nos.17-28 Croft Walk, the footpath fronting Nos.1-16 Croft Walk, the footway situated on the north side of Church Lane and Hoddesdon Public Footpath No.047.

The Order is needed because riverbank mainenance works are proposed to be executed near the Public Footpath.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 12 January 2026 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Stortford Road, Little Hadham from its junction with Cradle End north westwards to its junction with Albury Road, a distance of approximately 2073m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Hadham Road, A120 Little Hadham Bypass and Standon Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

An alternative route will be via Beaumont Road, Bread and Cheese Lane, Appleby Street, Park Lane Paradise and Beaumont Road.
