What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(GORGIE ROAD & STEVENSON DRIVE)
(TEMPORARY ROAD
RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION)
ORDER 2026 – TEMP/26/09

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate a safe working area for sewer replacement works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on both sides of Gorgie Rd, from the extended north-east kerbline of Ford’s Rd eastwards to the extended west kerbline of Hutchison Crossway; and (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of: (i) Gorgie Rd, from the extended north-east kerbline of Ford’s Rd, eastwards to the extended west kerbline of Hutchison Crossway; and (ii) Stevenson Dr, from the extended west kerbline of Stenhouse Gdns, south-westwards to the extended north kerbline of Stenhouse Cres. The Greenways parking bays, loading bays, waiting/stopping and bus lane restrictions shall be suspended in relation to the affected sections of road described above. The alternative routes for through vehicular traffic in relation to the road closure of Gorgie Rd are (i) Gorgie Rd, Chesser Ave, Slateford Rd, Ardmillan Ter and Dalry Rd; and (ii) Gorgie Rd, Chesser Ave, Slateford Rd, Henderson Ter and Gorgie Rd. The Order shall have effect from 11/01/26 to 24/07/26.
