THE A47 TRUNK ROAD (SOKE PARKWAY,
JUNCTION 16 BRETTON GATE INTERCHANGE, CITY OF PETERBOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National
Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A47 Trunk Road in the City of Peterborough, to enable nearby third-party maintenance works to an existing traffic statistics site to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place over
2 nights (10pm – 5am) starting on or after Wednesday 21 January 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to close alternately the A47 eastbound and westbound carriageways between the exit and entry slip roads at J16 Bretton Gate Interchange – traffic will be diverted off the A47 by exiting and re-entering via those slip roads.
The closures (which will not apply to works, emergency service, winter maintenance or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
The Order will come into force on 12 January 2026 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed, or for a maximum duration of 18 months, whichever is the earlier.
