What is happening?

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Sections 14(1) and 15(5) - Notice (NTRO9594)
Notice is given that the Secretary of State for Transport has approved the continuing in force for the period set out below of an Order made by the Norfolk County Council under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, prohibiting the use by the public of Rectory Road from its junction with Westbourne Road to its junction with The Hill in the Parish of Coltishall owing to ongoing 278 development works and new sewer main installation works by Smiths Civil Engineering and to maintain safe access for construction traffic and to mitigate public safety risks.
Date of Original Order: 23rd May 2025.
Previous restriction period: 26th May 2025 to 6th January 2026.
Period of extension: 7th January 2026 to 30th June 2026.
Alternative route is via: Rectory Road, B1150 North Walsham Road/Station Road/High Street, Church Street, B1354 Church Street, Rectory Road.
NB: Please note that the closure/restriction over the Rectory Road from its junction with Westbourne Road to its junction with The Hill will be temporarily removed while carriageway resurfacing works take place over the B1150 Station Road/ North Walsham Road between 19:00 and 05:00 from 28th to 31st January 2026.
Persons who contravene the Order will be liable, on conviction, to a fine.
