What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF MAIN STREET, FRAISTHORPE

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
part of Main Street, Fraisthorpe over Fraisthorpe
Bridge and approximately 50 metres either side of the
bridge commencing 2 February 2026 until 29 May
2026 to allow for demolition of the existing bridge and
installation of a new bridge works. The road closure
is necessary to enable the works to be carried out
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is
anticipated that the works will be completed within
117 days. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the road closure will be via Main Street, Sands Road
and A165 Bridlington Road. The diversion route will be
signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed
to all traffic without exception and to pedestrians (due
to the nature of the works). Further information can
