TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

ULLSWATER CLOSE, KEMPSTON 25 - 095

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Ullswater Close, Kempston.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing, reinstate road markings and undertake civil & iron works/replacements. Cleanse & flush out existing gullies and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 18:00 hours from 2nd February 2026 to 19th February 2026

The proposed Order will come into operation on 2nd February 2026, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Bedford Borough Council Tel: 01234 718003.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

GADSBY STREET, BEDFORD 25 - 114

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Gadsby Street, Bedford outside 17-19.

This temporary road closure is required to repair a water pipe and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 16:00 hours from 5th February 2026 to 9th February 2026

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Lurke Street, St Cuthberts Street, Castle Road, Mill Street, Gadsby Street.

The reverse route applies.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 5th February 2026, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Anglian Water Tel: 08457 145 145.

A6 WIXAMS BYPASS, ELSTOW 25 - 153

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along A6 Wixams Bypass, Elstow from A421 roundabout to Bedford Road Wilstead roundabout.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate Carriageway patching throughout Southbound and Northbound and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 20:00 to 06:00 hours Southbound to be closed on 28th & 29th Jan while Northbound remains open.

Northbound to be closed 30th January while Southbound remains open

TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

A6 WIXAMS BYPASS, ELSTOW 25 - 153

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the A6 Wixams Bypass, Elstow from A421 roundabout to Bedford Road Wilstead roundabout at a speed exceeding 40 mph.

This temporary 40mph speed restriction is required for safety of the public and work force in order to carry out carriageway patching and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary 40 mph speed restriction is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours 28th January 2026 to 30th January 2026

WOBURN ROAD, WOOTTON 25 - 120

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Woburn Road, Wootton.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate a survey and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 20:00 to 06:00 hours from 5th February 2026 to 9th February 2026

The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Woburn Road, Manor Road, Ampthill Road, Stewartby Way, Green Lane.

The reverse route applies.
