SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
(Moorslade Lane and Sundayshill Lane, Falfield)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon trial hole excavation works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 2 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that the works at each location will be carried out on the dates specified in column 2 of the said Schedule.

Alternative routes: 1. Moorslade Lane, A38, Road to Melton Farm Lower Stone, Moorslade Lane; 2. Sundayshill Lane, Rockhampton Rhine, Moorslade Lane, A38, Sundayshill Lane.
(Fourth Avenue, Filton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Fourth Avenue which extends from a point 40m north of Northville Road northwards for 30m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with new water connection works.
The order will be operative from 2 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration.
Alternative route: Fourth Avenue, Tenth Avenue, Filton Avenue and vice versa.
(Old Gloucester Road, Hambrook) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Old Gloucester Road which extends from Players Close southwards for 450m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with bridge structure survey works.
The order will be operative from 2 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 nights duration, between 7pm and 6am.
Alternative route: Diversion shall be bi-directional via Beacon Lane, Winterbourne Hill, Bristol Road (B4058).
(Hollywood Lane, Easter Compton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Hollywood Lane which extends from Cribbs Causeway north westwards for 60m.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon frame and cover renewal and replacement works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 5 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration, between 8am and 6pm.
Alternative routes: Vehicles: no through road. Cyclists: Hollywood Lane (parts unaffected), Bowstreet Lane, Blackhorse Hill, Cribbs Causeway and vice versa.
(Flaxpits Lane, Winterbourne) (Temporary Suspension of Parking Bay) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:-
a) suspend, temporarily, the South Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads, Flaxpits Lane Area, Winterbourne) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Protection of School Entrances – No Stopping) (Variation) Order 2013 in so far as it relates to the parking bays specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and b) suspend, temporarily, the South Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads, Flaxpits Lane Area, Winterbourne) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Protection of School Entrances – No Stopping) (Variation) Order 2013 in so far as it relates to the disabled persons parking places specified in Schedule 2 to this notice.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with electric cabling works. The order will be operative from 2 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months
The restrictions however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 month duration. Schedule 1 Flaxpits Lane – from Hazelgrove to Holmwood Close Schedule 2 Flaxpits Lane south side – from a point 45.8m east of Green Dragon Road in westwards to a point 39.2m east of Green Dragon Road.
(A4174 Avon Ring Road and A4017 Bromley Heath Road, Downend) (Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order 202(-)
Details of the proposed changes
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council proposes to make an order under sections 1(1) and 2(3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrians from entering and proceeding in lengths of A4174 Avon Ring Road and A4017 Bromley Heath Road, Downend. 1. A4174 – on its north verge, from a point 72m east of its junction with B4058, Bristol Road to a layby 75m east of Church Lane Overpass. 2. A4174 – on its south verge from a point 169m west of Badminton Road to its junction with Bromley Heath Road. 3. A4017, Bromley Heath Road – on its east verge only from its junction with the Bromley Heath Roundabout/A4174 south to property no.164 Bromley Heath Road. 4. Bromley Heath Road – on verges both sides of the carriageway from its junction with the A4174 north west for a distance of 16m.
Exemptions are contained in the order for pedestrians to enter and proceed in the lengths of road for building, industrial or demolition operations; the removal of any obstruction to traffic; the maintenance, improvement, cleansing or reconstruction of the road; in the event of mechanical breakdown or emergency, the laying, erection, alteration or repair in, or in land adjacent to the road of any sewer, or of any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water or electricity or any telecommunication apparatus; in the service of a local authority, for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes in exercise of official duties.

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO HOLD A PUBLIC INQUIRY
To: the Applicant, Objectors, every reputed owner, lessee, tenant or occupier of any part of the land described above (the Land) and to all others whom it may concern.
An application has been made to South Gloucestershire Council (as Commons Registration Authority) under Section 15(1) of the Commons Act 2006 and the Commons (Registration of Town or Village Greens) (Interim Arrangements) (England) Regulations 2007 to include the Land in the register of town and village greens.
The Commons Registration Authority has appointed an Inspector who has directed that an Inquiry is held to consider evidence.
The Inquiry shall be held in the Charter Suite, Chipping Sodbury Town Hall at 26 High Street, Chipping Sodbury, Bristol, BS37 6AH from Monday 26 to Wednesday 28 January 2026 between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Wotton Road which extends from B4058 Bristol Road southwards for 110m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon footway surfacing works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 2 February 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 10 days duration.
Alternative route: Wotton Road (part unaffected), High Street, Latteridge Road, B4058 and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers and Pedal Cycles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers and pedal cycles that length of Footpath and Cyclepath Stanshawes Drive to Sundridge Park which extends from Footpath Birkdale by 1 to 7 to Sundridge Park.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon footway and cycleway surfacing works. The order will be operative from 2 February 2026 for a maximum period of six months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 10 days duration.
Alternative route: Footpath Birkdale by 1 to 7, Highworth Crescent, St Briavels Drive, Sundridge Park and vice versa.
