What is happening?

(Abbeygate, Kilwinning) (Temporary Footway and Parking Bay Closure) Order 2026
The North Ayrshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order. Three disabled parking bays on Kilwinning Abbey side of Car Park within Abbeygate, Kilwinning, North Ayrshire (parking bays nearest to Main Street, Kilwinning) including the footway behind to cover the full extents of the three disabled bays from 00:01 hours on Monday 12th January 2026 to 23:59 hours on Friday 26th June 2026 or whenever finished earlier. This Order will remain in force until the works are complete, or date mentioned above. Pedestrians will be diverted via signs for the duration of the works.
(DISABLED PERSONS’ PARKING PLACES) (MASTER) ORDER2025
On the 22 December 2025, the North Ayrshire Council made the above-named Order in terms of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.
The Order, which comes into operation on the 20 February 2026, was advertised in various local newspapers on the 29 October 2025, and the effect of the Order is as stated in said notices.
Copies of the Order and schedule relative thereto are available for inspection during normal working hours Monday to Friday inclusive at the offices of: -

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from the 09 January 2026, apply to the Court of Session for this purpose.
