ABERDEENSHIRE COUNCIL

B979 – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

“The Aberdeenshire Council (B979 – 05.01.26) (Temporary Closure to Vehicular Traffic) Order, 2026” has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984.

The order will operate from 05.01.26 for 49 days and will prohibit any person from driving on the B979, between Sunnyside Farmhouse and Cairniehillock. Access will be provided for emergency and vehicles requiring access to properties but may be subject to delay until the road is cleared of construction plant to allow safe passage through the works.

The temporary restriction is necessary in the interests of public safety during works to lay/repair water mains. An alternative route is available via the B979 – A90 Roundabout Stonehaven – A90 – Milltimber Flyover – B979 Milltimber – B9077 South Deeside Road – B979 and vice versa.

Details of the restriction can be viewed online at https://online.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/apps/roadworks/. Any queries should be directed to Yasemin Macdonald on 01467 535435.
