(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (A697 Eccles Sub Station) (Temporary 30mph Speed

Restriction) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic

Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of  18 months, will come into force at 00:01 on 5 January 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 23:59 on 26 March 2027. The Order is required to ensure a safe driving and working environment while assisting with construction phase of site access works to Eccles Sub Station.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle at a speed exceeding 30mph along the A697 from existing access in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 850 metres. (THE SQUARE & EAST HIGH STREET, GREENLAW)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (The Square & East High Street, Greenlaw)

(Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of  18 months, will come into force on 10 January 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 18 January 2026. The Order is required for safe passage of abnormal load.

When the Order comes into effect, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on both sides of the following roads on the dates and at the times specified: (a) The Square, Greenlaw – from its junction with the A6105 to East High Street; and (b) East High Street, Greenlaw – from The Square to Marchmont Road:

 (i) from 00:01 on 10 January to 23:59 on 11 January 2026; and  (ii) from 00:01 on 17 January to 23:59 on 18 January 2026.

(MARINE PARADE, EYEMOUTH)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Marine Parade, Eyemouth)

(Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation  Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months,  will come into force on 7 January 2026 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 07:30 and 14:00. The Order is required for Scottish Water works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Marine Parade, Eyemouth.

There is no alternative route. A map showing the restriction can be seen at  www.tellmescotland.gov.uk.

(D149/6 COVE FARM COTTAGES, COVE)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (D149/6 Cove Farm Cottages, Cove) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 11 January 2026 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on  24 January 2026. The Order is required for SPEN works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D149/6 at Cove Farm Cottages, Cove.

The alternative route for southbound traffic is via the D149/6, A1, A1107 and D149/6 to the point of closure, for northbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing. A map showing the restriction and alternative routes can be seen at  www.tellmescotland.gov.uk.
