ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –  SECTION 14(1) & (7)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Banbury, Lower Cherwell Street

Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting

Date of Order: 29/12/2025

Coming into force: 5/1/2026

This Order is being introduced to allow the installation of a compound for highway improvement works which are anticipated to take until July 2026 to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in the northernmost length of Lower Cherwell Street (cul-de-sac). Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The permitted waiting for 30 minutes and 4 hrs between 8am and 6pm shall be suspended and waiting prohibited other than for works related operations. Exemptions also include for police, fire and ambulance services and for access to premises which is only accessible from the closed section of road. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T6808 /RMF )

Mollington, School Hill

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 29/12/2025

Coming into force: 6/1/2026

This Order is being introduced because of excavations for fibre cabling and clearing potential blockages which is anticipated to take until 12/1/2026 to complete. Working Hours 08:00 - 17:00hrs. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in that part of School Hill outside Marylands. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Roundhill Road, A423, The Holloway, Main Street and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. ( Ref: T16784/RMF )

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

South Newington, Footpath 355/13/50

Date of Order: 12/1/2026

Coming into force: 20/1/2026

This Order is being introduced because of ongoing building development works in the area. This footpath is closed for safety of the public until an anticipated completion date of 20/7/2026. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of Footpath No.355/13/50 south of Wigginton Road and north of Paradise Farm. The alternative route will be signed via a parallel track. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. This order will remain in force for 6 months and may be extended subject to the Secretary of State for Transport.
