Croydon, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

CROYDON COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

LIMES AVENUE, WANDLE SIDE & LODGE AVENUE, CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Limes Avenue, Wandle Side and Lodge Avenue, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said work is taking place the roads will be closed as detailed below and one-way working will be suspended to allow two-way traffic.

• Limes Avenue – closed from 05 January to 09 February 2026.

• Wandle Side – closed from 05 January to 09 February 2026.

• Lodge Avenue – from 12 January to 09 February 2026.

3. During the closures the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below.

• Limes Avenue closure: Via Wandle Side, Lodge Avenue, and Purley Way.

• Wandle Side closure: Via Lodge Avenue, Purley Way, and Limes Avenue.

• Lodge Avenue closure: Via Purley Way, Limes Avenue, Wandle Side, and Lodge Avenue.

4. The Order will come into operation on 05 January 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months to be reintroduced if further work is required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

FACTORY LANE, CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate a telecoms pole installation on behalf of T-Mobile they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic in Factory Lane, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

a) Factory Lane will be closed to vehicular and equestrian traffic between its junction with Theobald Road and Communication House, No. 5 Factory Lane.

b) The north and north-western footway of Factory Lane (adjacent to the Territorial Army Centre on Mitcham Road) will be closed to pedestrians between a point opposite the island site at the junction of Factory Lane and Roman Way and Communication House, No. 5 Factory Lane.

c) The weight restrictions on vehicles entering Miller Road from Purley Way and the width restrictions on vehicles entering Factory Lane at its junction with Miller Road will be suspended.

3. During the closures, the alternative routes for vehicular and equestrian traffic will be as detailed below. Pedestrians will be directed to the opposite footway.

• Via Mitcham Road Northbound, Lombard Roundabout, Purley Way Southbound, and Miller Road.

• Via Mitcham Road Southbound, Roman Way, Old Town, Davenant Road, The Croydon Flyover, Duppas Hill Road, Epsom Road, Purley Way, and Miller Road.

HGVs (No Left Turn) – Via Ampere Way slip road, Ampere Way Northbound, Ampere Way Roundabout, Ampere Way Southbound, Faraday Way, Purley Way, and Miller Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 15 January 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed overnight from 10pm on 15 January to 6am on 16 January 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle or person involved in conducting the said work.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CARGREEN ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate sewer connection works they intend to make an Order to the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Cargreen Road, South Norwood.

2. During the works, Cargreen Road will be closed between its junction with Lawrence Road and the common boundary of No. 12 Cargreen Road and No. 29 Lawrence Road.

3. Whilst these restrictions are in force the diversion route for traffic will be via Lawrence Road, Selhurst Road and vice versa, as appropriately signed.

4. The Order will come into operation on 15 January 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out within approximately twelve days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate cable installation works by UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular and equestrian traffic movements and parking in the roads shown in the Schedule to this notice.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place the roads/sections of roads listed in the Schedule to this notice will be closed and or have restrictions applied prohibiting parking on the dates shown.

3. During the closures the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below.

Pawsons Road junction with Queens Road closure:

• Northbound – Via Whitehorse Road, High Street, Brigstock Road, London Road, Bensham Lane, Queens Road.

• Southbound – Via Queens Road, Windmill Road, Whitehorse Road.

Pawsons Road junction with Whitehorse Road closure:

• Northbound – Via Whitehorse Road, High Street, Brigstock Road, London Road, Bensham Lane, Queens Road.

• Southbound – Via Queens Road, Windmill Road, Whitehorse Road.

Saxon Road closure:

• Northbound – Via Whitehorse Road, Pawsons Road, Queens Road, Windmill Road, Northcote Road, Dagnall Park.

• Southbound – Via Whitehorse Road, Northcote Road, Dagnall Park.

Woodvale Avenue closure:

• Northbound – Via South Norwood Hill, Church Road, Sylvan Hill, Auckland Road.

• Southbound – Via South Norwood Hill, Southern Avenue, Northyst Avenue.

Hurlstone Road closure:

• Northbound – Via Newhaven Road, Charnwood Road, Farnley Road, Dagmar Road.

• Southbound – Via Newhaven Road, Dagnall Park, Prince Road, Dagmar Road.

Prince Road closure:

• Northbound – Via Dagmar Road, Farnley Road, Rothesay Road, Clifton Road.

• Southbound – Via Selhurst Road, Clifton Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 15 January 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed as shown in the Schedule to this notice. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
