Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C126 (Part), Purton; from outside its property known as Diana Cottage for a distance of approximately 90m in a south westerly direction to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out barrier maintenance works and other associated works. Alternative route via C126 (unaffected length) – C414 – B4553 – C126 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 January 2026, and the closure will be required between the hours of 23:15 and 05:15 for 1 night. B) C8 (Part), Bishops Cannings; from its junction with Pig Lane for a distance of approximately 420m in an easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing work and other associated works. Alternative route via C8 (unaffected length) – A361 – A4 – C73 – C38 – C8 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 29 January 2026, and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. C) C120 (Part), Winterbourne Bassett; from outside its property known as Bourneseife for a distance of approximately 125m in an easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out blockage clearance works and other associated works. Alternative route via C120 (unaffected length) – C121 – C415 – A4361 – C120 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 January 2026, and closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 for 3 days. D) C202 (Part), West Overton; from its junction with Southfield to its junction with Forge Lane.

E) UC 136801 (Part), West Overton; from its junction with C202 for a distance of approximately 150m in an easterly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out jetting and CCTV of existing drainage network. Alternative route via C202 (unaffected length) – C38 – A4 – C202 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 January 2026, and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. F) Manor Farm Lane (Part), Patney; from its property known as Manor Farm for a distance of approximately 180m in a north easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out resurfacing and other associated works. Alternative route via Manor Farm Lane (unaffected length) – Woodborough Road – C151 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 January 2026, and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 for 1 day. G) C101 (Part), Minety; from its junction with C99 for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out annual barrier maintenance, adjustments to the equipment and timer resets and other associated works. Alternative route via C101 (unaffected length) – C99 – C76 – C90 – C101 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 January 2026, and the closure will be required between the hours of 23:15 and 05:15 for 1 night. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

H) Nattock Close, Devizes; from its junction with Elizabeth Drive for its entire length to enable Openreach to carry out ducting work and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 05 January 2026, and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. I) Smithy Lane (Part), Woodborough; from its property known as Claycroft for a distance of approximately 30m in an easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out section 81 defect, repair/replace cover and frame. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 05 January 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 14:00 for 2 days. J) C101 (Part), Minety; from its junction with C99 for a distance of approximately 350m in a south westerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out trial hole work and other associated works. Alternative route via C101 (unaffected length) – C90 – C85 – C99 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 08 January 2026 and will be required for 2 days. K) C119 (Part), Broad Town; from a point approximately 200m north of its property known as Springfield House for a distance of approximately 180m in a northerly direction to enable Gigaclear to carry out works to repair a customer connection and other associated works. Alternative route via C119 (unaffected length) – C15 – C415 – C119 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 08 January 2026, and the closure will be required for 1 day. For further information please contact Gigaclear on 01865 591 131.

Orders A) to K) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (No.58) 2025

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily, to all vehicles, the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The Order which previously came into operation on 06 October 2025 will now recommence on 05 January 2026. It is required to enable carriageway patching, surface dressing and associated maintenance works. The Order has maximum duration period of 18 months. The closures are anticipated to be for up to 5 days but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that advance signs will be deployed 2 weeks prior to the closure dates. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The closures are anticipated to take place between 05 January 2026 and 26 March 2026.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all users:

Bridleway 114 (Part), Potterne; from its junction with Bridleway 115, Potterne to its junction with Footpath 94, Potterne to enable installation of flow monitoring as part of the Monitoring Certification Scheme for Improvement (MCERT) at Potterne WRC.

The installation will require a temporary flow diversion via over pumping. The over pumping will require temporary access through a hedgerow as well as a temporary compound and welfare facilities.

To ensure public safety this PROW section must be temporarily closed whilst the vegetation clearance, over pumping and construction access is made.

Identified alternative route via existing public rights of way and highways.

The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by white arrow signs.

This Order which was due to expire on 07 January 2026 will now continue in force until 27 March 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order will have a maximum duration of 06 months.
