Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Rampart Road (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Kelsey Road to its junction with Endless View Road to enable SGN to carry out gas main replacement and associated works. Alternative route via Rampart Road (unaffected length) – Milford Hill – Laverstock Road – Kelsey Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 05 January 2026 and the closure will be required until 02 March 2026. For further information please contact PF Utilities on 07477 665141.
B) Quavey Road, Redlynch; from its junction with Goggs Lane to its junction with Princes Hill.
C) Princes Hill, Redlynch; from its junction with Quavey Road to its junction with Bowers Hill.
D) The Row (Part), Redlynch; from its junction with Bowers Hill for a distance of approximately 50m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out cable recovery and associated works.
Alternative route B/C via School Road – Vicarage Road – Timberley Lane – Grove Lane and vice versa. Alternative route D via The Row (unaffected length) – Muddyford Road – B3080 – Bowers Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 08 January 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 10 January 2026. E) Costers Lane, Bowerchalke; from its junction with Back Lane to its junction with Church Street to enable Wessex Internet to carry out ducting and associated works. Alternative route via Church Street – Back Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 05 January 2026 and the closure will be required until 09 January 2026. F) B3080 (Part), Downton; from its junction with Moot Lane for a distance of approximately 450m in an easterly direction.
G) Barford Lane (Part), Downton; from its junction with B3080 for a distance of approximately 70m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out cable recovery and associated works.
Alternative route F via B3080 (unaffected length) – A338 – B3078 – B3080 (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route G via Barford Lane (unaffected length) – Witherington Road – Shute End – Southampton Road – A36 – A338 – B3080 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 05 January 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. H) Highbury Avenue (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with A36 for a distance of approximately 25m in a north easterly direction to enable SGN to carry out gas main connection, storage and associated works. Alternative route via Highbury Avenue (unaffected length) – A360 – A36 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 05 January 2026 and the closure will be required until 29 May 2026. I) C62 (Part), Donhead St Mary; from its junction with C311 to its junction with Byre Wood Lane to enable Openreach to carry out fibre and associated works. Alternative route via C62 (unaffected length) – C299 – C61 – C62 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 08 January 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Orders A) to I) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (No.60) 2025 (Ref: TTRO 10931)
Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily, to all vehicles, the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice. The Order which previously came into operation on 06 October 2025 will now recommence on 05 January 2026. It is required to enable carriageway patching, surface dressing and associated maintenance works. The Order has maximum duration period of 18 months. The closures are anticipated to be for up to 5 days but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that advance signs will be placed 2 days prior to the closure dates. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The closures are anticipated to take place between 05 January 2026 and 26 March 2026.
